I had the prime rib at Dukes the night before and it was meh and expensive, had the same size prime rib at Bull Shed and not only was it better tasting, it was half the price! It was our first time here and it was memorable. Wife, and friends loved their food too.“

“Excellent local eatery specializing in plate lunches. Favorite entrees include pork adobo, various stews and curries, tempura and fried chicken. The Hawaiian plate with pork lau lau is also a standout. A friendly, family atmosphere with hard working employees.“

Ambiance is fine, it is at an airport and feels a bit like a food court even though it has its own area/restaurant space.“

“I had been on island for a week and the day I leave I found this place. The food was amazing and felt like home cooked eating. The owner and staff were friendly and talked to us for quite some time about everything. They are genuinely some of the nicest people we’ve met on the island and must suggest this place to anyone and everyone that is coming to Kauai. Don’t make the same mistake we did, come on your first day and you won’t be disappointed.“

“We are Marriott Owners and stayed on property to enjoy the Royal Sonesta amenities. Kukui's bar opened up after their beautiful remodel.while we were there. I shared my thoughts with Anthony, who was the manager on site. Christmas Day was crazy busy and the staff kicked butt and did a fantastic job. Boy, were they hustling and still kept their composure and professionalism! The menu has been refreshed and had many great healthy options. The prices are standard for this type of higher end property. The breakfast menu offered many options and all that we tasted were beautifully plated and very delicious! Yes, there were hiccups, which is expected, but the staff did the best they could. I'm not going to mention what needed to be improved on yet. “We stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort and went to Shutters the first night to get a drink to have while walking on the beach. It was not high quality. I saw the "bartender" go to the cooler and grab a premixed "manhattan" in a glass and pour it into a plastic cup for us to go out to the beach area. My wife had a mai tai. I think that one was at least mixed when it was ordered. Mine tasted like it was - tired, a bit diluted, and clearly made long before I drank it. If that were the end of the story, I would be arguing about whether to do 2 or 3 stars, but the best part is what came next. We were wandering around in Hanapepe and ended up buying a fresh dragonfruit from a little store. When we came back, I went to the bar to see if they could give me a knife. I expected a plastic or maybe butter knife, but the busboy got me a steak knife, which was so much better. Next night, we had some left over poke and I asked for whether they had soy sauce, and the busser came back with packets for us to take to the room. The staff definitely went out of their way and I would give 5 stars for that, but I cannot ignore the bad drinks. Did not get to try the food.“

“Located at the Outrigger hotel and adjacent to Kauai Beach Villas, this restaurant is convenient and very pleasant with indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast was delicious with poached eggs, Canadian bacon, papaya and mimosa with many other selections. Dinner offerings cover every appetite, including a daily catch-of-the-day. Food is deliciously prepared from an abundant selection. Desserts are divine. Service is gracious and delivered with a smile.“

“Much better than expected, big pours of wine and surprisingly great burger with a mountain of fries as well. Bartender was friendly and enjoyed our conversation with him. Has a bigger seating area in back as well not sure why the ratings are so low but for us it was a great stop.“

“I enjoyed my food here (I got the fish sandwich) but the atmosphere didn't sit well with me. It is an open layout with nothing spreading the bar, kitchen, and dining room. The sound is loud and comes from all over. When little kids are in there it is even worse. I enjoyed my food but won't go back.“
