An unassuming spot for some of the best shave ice on the island. We stopped in the town of Kapa'a to walk around and walked into the Hee Fat General Store. At the back of the store is the shave ice counter. We didn't plan on getting shave ice, but the menu enticed us. 5 STARS. The service was OUTSTANDING. I got helped by a young woman named Rayna who was just absolutely radiating sunshine!! She was managing so many customers at once and attending to all their needs, I've never seen more dedication to retail in my life! As a bonus to her amazing help, she also made great conversation and helped my family and I find so many cool so spots on the island we didn't know about. Awesome!

Ok - listen up. Shave ice is a heavenly experience. Thats understood. The differentiation with Hee Fat is the homemade syrups made right there. This place is so incredibly good that we went 5 times while we were in Kauai. Might I suggest some merch? I’d love to rock a Hee Fat shave ice shirt back on the mainland. You’ll be glad you stopped in for a lava flow and know your day will be better. Chefs kiss!
