This evening, I had dinner with my coworker at a restaurant. Being a food lover, I ordered the brisket sandwich combo. The moment I tasted the brisket, it melted in my mouth and left me craving more. The presentation of the food was also impressive. The service was top-notch, and the staff was courteous and friendly. They were always around to make sure we had everything we needed. Milt was stationed at Dyess AFB Texas, Abilene, Texas. HUGE BBQ fan. Hit ALL of the BBQ joints at that time. Moved on to MANY BBQ joints throughout the state of Texas, then in Vegas and even in Hawaii. Dickey's is really good BBQ. I enjoyed the "tender" ribs, chopped brisket, smoked sausage, cole slaw and baked beans. (WISH THEY HAD BEEF RIBS). We went for an early dinner, around 430 pm and they were already out of baked potatoes...seems like a preparation error for dinner. The food was okay. The chicken, baked beans, and okra was good but the pork was cold. The tables were super sticky as well. A few attention to detail items would make this spot better.
