Lava’s on Poipu Beach Reviews
The Prime Rib was enjoyed by my son-in-law, and I LOVED the Stung Honey Fried Chicken. The coconut shrimp were the perfect accompianment to the King Tiki Mai Thai. Food was decent, we had the lunch special fried chicken wrap with bacon and avocado. Friendly staff, young and hip crowd, and immediate access to Brennecke's beach. Great place for families with kids.

Lava’s on Poipu Beach offers stunning views right on the beach, with a rounded format providing ocean-side seating. The food, while nice, may be slightly under seasoned for some tastes. The restaurant features a good variety of options, including vegetarian choices like island salad with crispy tofu. Customers have enjoyed good salads, burgers, and even a breakfast sandwich, with breakfast potatoes being described as the best ever. The atmosphere is complemented by a large counter bar and different size tables, making it suitable for various groups. The happy hour offers a nice experience, especially for guests staying at nearby hotels, with great Mai Tais and frozen drinks that beat the heat. Visitors also praised the quick, friendly service, with some mentioning a charming and attentive server who made the experience memorable. The location allows for walks along the path to enjoy beautiful sunsets and surf watching. Recent reviews highlighted the delicious loco moco for breakfast, featuring red wine gravy and mushrooms, which was considered better than others tried earlier in the week. For dinner, some guests enjoyed a full rack of ribs that was tender, flavorful, and abundant, with one noting they even took leftovers back to their room. The restaurant’s beachfront location and ocean views create a unique dining experience in Poipu, even if some reviews noted occasional distractions like background music. Prices are reasonable, with dishes like a $32 double burger and fries. Overall, Lava’s offers a memorable spot for enjoying the ocean, good food, and relaxing atmosphere.
