“Our family very recently vacationed in Kauai to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. I had reached out to Ko Bakery several weeks before our trip to have a cake made to surprise my parents. We chose the Haupia with Lime buttercream and also got a dozen cupcakes (yellow cake with chocolate buttercream) for the kiddos. The cake and cupcakes were AMAZING!!!! Their customer service is incredible (especially since we were communicating through email) and pick up was a breeze. I highly recommend Ko Bakery!!!“

“We stumbled across Sugar Skull while on vacation. The carrot cake is the best I have ever had. We just had 12 packs of macaroons shipped to us for my son’s 14th birthday. He is in heaven!“

“I’ve driven by this place a million times. Stopped in during March OMG delish. I was told about it from the office staff at Kauai Coffee. The secret is OUT. Don’t miss this one.“

“These are the best malasadas! We’ve tried lots of top rated places on kaua’i and other islands, and nothing ever beats these. The fillings are not overly sweet or artificial tasting like so many others are. Our favorites are the lilikoi and haupia, but you really can’t go wrong with any. They have some savory options too which are yummy also. We come here every time we’re on Kaua’i (multiple times!), and they are always the most welcoming and kind people working there. The coffee is good too, we love the mac nut and coconut lattes. We love Kaua’i Bakery!!“

“We stopped to get some dessert to go with the dinner we were going to make after a rainy day of sightseeing. I picked the sweet potato haupia pie, my husband had the lilikoi chiffon with cream cheese, and my nephew had the 4 pc Ube Mochi. We each tried a taste of each other’s desserts and I liked the lilikoi dessert the best. I forgot to take pics of the desserts but we also bought a dozen of taro rolls which we used for breakfasts egg sandwiches for 2 of the days. Ruth was so helpful and friendly in answering all my questions about the desserts in helping my selection. My mom grew up in Hawaii and used to make haupia and delicious rolls so it brought back some sweet memories and was especially fitting since part of our reason for our trip was to scatter some of her ashes.“
“Love the food here. You gotta be there really early for the full spread of rolls, I love the spicy crab, portuguese sausage, or flying saucers. They’re prepared food is great too, I love the kim chee fried rice omelet or the brisket bomb. Been coming here for years, owners are really kind hardworking people. My favorite breakfast spot in lihue!“

“The best coffee spot on the island! All made to order- we got pour overs brewed from freshly roasted beans. The baked goods were heavenly, Kouign Amann (croissant meets macadamia nut and honey) is a MUST!! Next fav choice personally was the cinnamon scone. Opens relatively early for your early adventures when most “breakfast” options are closed“
“Popo's Cookies was a great first place to stop while exploring Hanapepe! There is a parking lot across the street, then going down the alley brings you into a quaint courtyard.
The selection of cookies made it hard to choose, but we went with the Coconut Macadamia Nut Cookies and they did not disappoint. It turned into our lunch while we walked down the main street of Hanapepe.“

“One of the best pastrami sandwiches here! I like all the options for your order and the food was great. So good, in fact, that we're looking to go back for another lunch! It was pretty busy when we went, so the food took a while to come out. Definitely plan ahead if you're going during the lunch hour.“

“Our tour stopped in Hanapepe and we came across Midnight Bear Breads. Such a cute little town and bakery. My aunt and I picked up some delicious fresh pastry and breads. We really enjoyed them for breakfast while we stayed on the island. Thank you for the amazing memories. We are back home in Oklahoma and dream of your goodies!“
