Melrose is a cute coffee shop on Kauai with a pretty, LA-inspired decor. It shares its space with a small boutique store selling cute items, pastas, sauces, and cookie dough to take home. The service is consistently described as great, with very kind and sweet baristas providing quick and friendly service.
The coffee is incredibly good, smooth, and refreshing, with many options to choose from. Signature drinks include the Hawaiian Tropical, which is highly recommended, and the Mr. Melrose, the namesake signature drink. The Miss Melrose, a Vietnamese coffee, is also available. The shop offers good drinks with fun fall specials.
The food is especially delicious. A standout item is the truffle egg croissant, which is highly recommended; it is packed with eggs, has a distinct truffle taste, and features a very well-made, buttery, moist, flaky, and well-laminated croissant. Other baked goods like the brown butter chocolate chip cookie, described as heavenly, the blueberry scone, and a yummy chocolate croissant are also excellent. The shop provides a lovely and delicious experience for drinks, food, and shopping, making it a highly recommended place to visit.
