“There's not enough space to right the good things about this place. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and acknowledged by everyone, including the sushi chefs. Water and drink order is perfectly timed. Whether you order teishoku complete meals or sushi, the flavor and and portions are spot on. If you choose to sit at the sushi counter, the spread is just amazing. From white fish, tuna, to shellfish and sometimes even a fruit or plant to cleanse the pallet. I would recommend reservations as this place is always busy. Takeout is also very good!“

Atmosphere could use some work, only because for us Polynesian people, especially are bigger than Asians so its an adjustment when you need to walk up and in the way of ppl who phone order + the workers. The walkways are really petite.

The place moved a couple years ago to a newer shopping plaza with ample parking across New City Nissan, and now accepts credit card and they also answer the phone to take phone orders so that helps make the lines here shorter... Iykyk.

I always get the Breakfast Combo special deluxe with garlic chicken, 2 bacon, scrambled eggs and fried rice. A classic local brekkie when youre hungry. Prices have gone up so its around $13 bucks plus tax but its comfort food. Support local.... 5 stars??“

“There was a wonderful koi pond in this restaurant. It was not that busy. However, they seemed shorthanded because I kept looking for the waitress for a take out box. Finally, I had to stand up and ask for one from a man in a red shirt who appeared to be helping another table. The food was good. I especially liked the tempura of pumpkin, and string beans, the shrimp tempura was perfect. I ordered miso Butterfish. My husband liked it, but I did not like that it had a lot of black char on it. I read somewhere that the black Char is carcinogenic.“

I am blessed to have awesome neighbors that always share good eats with us and this is a spot I have yet to try. I was super excited because I’m originally from Aiea and anything from my hometown makes me super happy! They gave me a Bento Combo that had: Teri Beef, Fried Chicken, a slice of SPAM dipped in a teriyaki glaze, & a piece of fried panko fish with small container tartar sauce on a bed of multi grain rice. There was also a container with noodles with an assortment of toppings as well. Delicious! Very tasty and full of flavor. Noodles were firm and just right, not salty. The Beef Teriyaki was especially yummy!! I highly recommend this tasty local spot 😁👍“

If you are dining in, the ambiance is cozy, they have their own restroom. Tables are big and can accomodate bigger groups if needed. I always order from them either from Uber Eats or in-person at the restaurant for dine-in or take out! Staff is very friendly! I love going to this restaurant. “Japanese style gyudon beef bowls in Pearl City. Located on Kuala Street next door to Starbucks in the strip mall that has Sams Club Gas and Walmart.

These guys used to be in the old Shirokiya back in the day. A bit pricey compared to beef bowls in Japan but were in Hawaii so live a little🤙They also opened another location in Kalihi but this one is easier to get to in terms of parking.

Go to is the Beef Ontama bowl or the Beef Bowl with Takoyaki. Filling and gets my gyudon fix👍They have the shichimi spice and the red ginger (kisami shoga) at the condiment table by the pick up window too.

“I visited for the first time yesterday and loved it! I ordered the mochiko chicken, which was delicious. The place was busy, with people waiting outside, but I didn’t have to wait as I sat on the bar-side seating, which gave a great vibe. They also have regular tables, but I enjoyed the bar-style atmosphere. Overall, a great experience—I’ll definitely come back and recommend it!

“Anytime I'm at the NEX or Commissary, I get a bite to eat here. The food is delicious, no matter what you get on the menu. I prefer the shrimp tempora. It's always crowded in the food court (just how food courts are), but getting food to go is good too.“
