Binchotan Bar & Grill Reviews
Service was incredibly slow. Food outstanding and the server was very nice, but it took over an hour to get our food.
The food was good, the drinks were ok, and even though the staff was nice, the level of service was nothing like eating at Canoe House or Moana at Kona Village. And the furniture could use some upgrades - the chairs' upholstery was hanging and looked terrible.
The food was excellent, and it was such a lovely place to eat dinner at the resort. The tiki torches, beautiful landscaping, and ocean in the distance made this a great first dinner in Hawaii. Service was ok, but for the price, I would have expected it to be a bit more polished and attentive.

Binchotan Bar & Grill offers a varied menu featuring Asian and other types of food. Standout dishes include the tuna crispy rice, tempura crusted cauliflower, mahi-mahi robata, and macadamian nut crusted shrimp. The pork belly fried rice is also recommended. Vegan options include udon, fried rice, veg sushi, a tofu side, and a delicious vegan asparagus side with aioli, along with vegan panna cotta for dessert. The Ribeye was noted as possibly the best steak ever had, making it a gorgeous spot for a romantic dinner. Pau Hana Happy Hour offers Kanpachi Poke Tacos, Crispy Bao Buns stuffed with Chashu pork, Shishito Peppers, Spring Rolls with Hamakua mushrooms, and Popcorn shrimp dipped in wasabi aioli, each for $10, ensuring diners leave feeling stuffed. While the rolls were described as tasteless, the atmosphere can feel quiet and a bit strange, especially in the evening when the restaurant may be empty both inside and outside. The outdoor lanai provides a pleasant setting, although the ocean view is obstructed. Portions are large enough for sharing, and the restaurant can accommodate late arrivals without rushing guests. Recent reviews highlight mixed experiences with service, with some noting excellent food but issues with server attentiveness. However, others praised the quality of food and exceptional service, making the dining experience special. The noise level can be louder when large groups are present, but overall, diners recommend Binchotan for a unique Asian Pacific experience.
