Asked if he would substitute grilled fish for the fried shrimp on their salad, and he said sure. Best $15 I've spent on the island. They are take out only, so brought it down to the nearest park to eat. The view is definitely 5 star atmosphere. If you're looking for a good meal at a good price, this is the place.
Great quality food and easy to go orders. Call it in from the beach and pick up our go to items were the Korean chicken salad, California roll and ahi roll. Don’t sleep on the fish and chips, good fries.
We had takeout lunch from Kawaihae Kitchen. 3 Bento Boxes and one Vegetarian Roll. Everything was delicious and freshly made, and very reasonably priced.
Bento boxes all come with rice, daikon pickles, omelet and a slice of Spam… Japan married with Hawaii!

Kawaihae Kitchen is a small, take out only spot that mainly caters to local working folks. The food is great quality, freshly made, and very reasonably priced. Everything on the menu is solid and tasty. Popular items include the Korean chicken salad, California roll, ahi roll, fish and chips, and Katsu chicken & fries. The chicken katsu combo platter comes with rice and mac salad, with unique special sauces. Bento boxes come with rice, daikon pickles, omelet, and a slice of Spam. Portion sizes are very generous. The wait time can be long for this popular place, but everything is well prepared. The view at the nearest park is definitely 5 star atmosphere. It is only open during lunch, but definitely worth the trip.
