“The tasting was a great experience! However, my favorite menu item was definitely the ahi cigars. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The chef and his crew are amazing! Great service and food!”

“Hands down the BEST wonton noodle soup EVER!!
The noodles had the perfect chew, thin and so much flavor. The wonton with the shrimp, the wrapping so delicate.
Just the absolute BEST!”

“TLDR: Melissa is AWESOME! But, if you are gluten free (ie no soy sauce with wheat) or allergic to mushrooms, you can’t eat here.
My husband and I combined have those allergies and Melissa was very kind to ask the chef if we could be accommodated. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible. Melissa was so respectful of how she informed us - aaaaaaand then offered us a complimentary cocktail (which was on point) and a reservation down the road at a nice restaurant that she knew could accommodate our allergies!
I don’t envy her for effectively having to kick us out, but she (and the entire staff) were so gracious to us. Thank you Melissa!”

“I’m visiting Hawaii from the mainland. I saw that they had my favorite cookie this week… the churro cookie. It had so much flavor and was baked so well. I recommend coming here if you miss Crumbl.”

“I had the unexpected pleasure of enjoying drinks and snacks at Obake. We were early for reservations at Skull and Crown. The hostess recommended Obake, which is their sister bar and restaurant, just around the corner. We were seated at the counter across from chef Christian and watched him craft all the handrolls served during our visit. First, the drinks: we had the Momiji, the Will o' the Whisp, the Fallen Angel, and the Feels like Summer. This isn't your everyday bar. The cocktails took some time to craft, but they did not disappoint . The Momiji was their nod to fall, while the Feels like Summer, well, you get it. While each drink was light and enjoyable, my favorite was the FLS. A nod to the Old Fashioned, but light and bright.
The house pickles and Yukari Fries were perfect sharing plates. We also tried the Hamachi, Summer Toro, Ho Hayn, and Bangsilog rolls. The Summer Toro had strawberries in it that paired beautifully with the spicy Toro. The Ho Hayn was served with a small dish of Hawaiian chili pepper water, either dipped in the water or followed by a chaser sip of the water. The Ho Hayn left me wanting more. The Bangsilog was probably my favorite just because it brought me back to breakfast in my Filipino mother's kitchen. It was all the flavors of my childhood in one roll.
Our server, whose name slips my memory, was a delight. She was attentive and explained the concepts behind the drinks she brought us.
Christian was a joy to watch and a joy to speak with.
Thank you for an enjoyable evening.”

“The food is fantastic and the staff is so friendly. Outstanding, authentic Mexican ceviche and service. The tuna tostada and Cabo taco were delicious as well. Anyone looking for great Mexican seafood, this is the place to go in the island.”

“This great bar is tucked away in an office building. The drinks were fantastic, although the service was slow for the amount of people at the bar. We will return the next time we are in the area.”

“Flippin’ delicious poke bowls! Super fresh, all kinds of flavors, and the garlic rice was 💣. Just another amazing local lunch spot that’s off the beaten path, but should be on everyone’s short list.”

“This was a nice little place to visit. I'm not personally a coffee drinker, but I did try some samples. It was pretty good! We bought some coffee for the coffee-drinkers in the Family. I really wish they would have given some type of a brief presentation of how coffee is grown and the process for turning it into coffee grounds.”

“This is my go-to spot after I get my hair cut at nearby Major League barber shop. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch. I've had the pollo asada and the chorizo & egg tacos, both with rice and beans. 🤤 This is a Veteran/family owned business that takes their food creations and customer relations seriously. It is also SoCal Mex based flavor-wise and takes me back to the neighborhood taco shops in L.A. and San Diego. I look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu.”

“I've eaten take out here before and I like their Mala gyōza with noodles and their pork rice bowl. Tonight I tried dining in. We split the Mala gyōza as an appetizer and I had the braised beef rib noodle soup. Mala gyōza was good as always. The soup I was expecting to be a bit spicier. The noodles were very chewy which I wasn't used to. The beef rib was quite chewy and tough. For a soup that claimed to be cooked for at least 12 hours, I expected it to fall off the bone. Overall it was an okay meal. I'd definitely order a different main dish next time.”

“I got the pho with rare steak and beef balls and it was amazing. It was just what I was craving and needed. It was light, flavorful and filling. Service was great and quick, and the aunties were attentive. It’s a small restaurant but worth the wait if you come at a busy time.”

“Tucked away on the same level as McDonald’s in Aiea, this sushi spot is a place where locals go. It might be easy to miss, but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. There’s convenient parking, and while there’s no indoor seating, the outdoor tables make for a casual vibe.
Service is impressively quick, and the portion sizes are generous—ordering just one roll can be a lot for one person. If you’re with friends, I highly recommend sharing a few different rolls to get the full experience.
The staff (or possibly the owner) was incredibly kind and helpful. He let me know the fresh ahi was sold out for the day, but offered great suggestions for other rolls to try. Prices are fair, especially considering the portion sizes and Hawaii’s cost of living.
If you’re in the area, this spot is a must-try. Delicious sushi, great service, and a chance to support a small business :)”

“Usually stay away from Zippys as prices have gone up and portions have gone down but finally decided to go down here on Wednesday night as late night choices are very limited here? and this was 830pm at night....
Had to use my $5 coupon so decided on a Zip Pac Deluxe for $18....but came out a little over $15 when using the coupon so wasnt bad. Had a couple eating their food in the dine in area self serve and other than that it was just me waiting for food. Only took 5 minutes for my food so that was a positive. Food was the typical zippys... Though the chicken got smaller and the teri beef looked rather slim and tiny too. Im glad the Las Vegas Zippys is doing well since I feel post covid that this local food chain is failing.... 4 stars.”
