“The food was great as was the service. We sat at the bar. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy when we were there, we received our food quickly, it was just the right temperature and was of excellent quality. The bartender made drinks for us that weren't on the menu and did a great job. We had not been to this establishment for over 10 years but we will certainly be back soon!“

Top notch food, and main reason I am writing this review is due to the person serving us (JOSH). Our evening was made extra special thanks to JOSH. He greeted us with a genuine smile, anticipated our needs without being intrusive, and offered thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. “We often eat there when we're in Ankeny, and did so last Sunday. The fish and chips was, as it always is, outstanding. Our waitress, Jordan, was equally outstanding. She took care of our lunch time needs, often anticipating what we were wanting next. She even sent my wife home with a cup of the pop she was drinking. Simply outstanding and is our favorite restaurant when we're in Des Moines area.“

This place does hold lots of memories for me though. I have been going here since I was little, I'm nearly 50. I still go here off and on when I make it to Des Moines around lunch time.

Story has it it was a restaurant back in the 50s. It would be interesting to know for sure.“

“I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place deserves it. Visited on 2/26/26 around 4pm. Restrooms were clean and well stocked, restaurant area was clean, no trays or dishes laying out, everything well stocked, counters all wiped down/not sticky, drive thru was moving along at a steady pace, staff was all friendly, all in proper uniform, and don’t even get me started on the food 🤤 very impressed all around 🌟 10/10 recommend ♥️“
