Planning a party from five hours away seemed daunting at first, but once I connected with Amanda, the manager, everything fell into place. She made the entire process so easy and went above and beyond once we arrived—helping with every detail along the way. The staff at Spectators were incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the delicious food, great drinks, and wonderful service. “It definitely has changed from when I have been there years ago, but it's definitely for the better. Whe. You walk in its nice and open on the right to have conversations you can hear and pool tables on the right. It now has a jukebox (it's what I still call it) and no longer a stage. You can tell that business is not as busy since the changes, hopefully it picks back up for whoever the brave bar owner is. The bar staff ,she was happy,honest and just plain people's, with drinks with perfect mixtures, that make you feel relaxed and at home.“

“Pam and I met with my Class of 1968 at the Boulder Tap House in Ankeny Thursday for our monthly luncheon. This restaurant is pretty new and we've been wanting to try it out and lucky for us my class of 1968 chose it.
I ordered a Cuban Sandwich which featured sliced ham, pork carnitas, Swiss cheese, red cabbage,
sliced pickles and Dijonnaise served on a pressed
ciabatta loaf. For my side I picked a cup of Black Bean Chili, topped with shredded cheese. Both were clear off the charts delicious.
Pam ordered a Bacon Boulder Smash Burger which features
two smashed 4oz Angus burger patties,
2 slices of American cheese, pecan smoked
bacon, Pabst onions, Alabama white sauce and
butter leaf lettuce, tomato and pickles. Served
on a toasted bun. I didn't have a chance to try a bite but she was exceedingly pleased with her pick, neither one of us left remotely hungry. Our server did an amazing job, despite the fact we were a large group, our orderers were quickly taken and arrived at our table promptly.
Pam and I will for sure be returning next time we're in Ankeny and hungry, lots of really good tasty entrees to try.“

“I was in town for business and met a friend here. The staff recommended plenty of good options but I ended up with the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It did not disappoint. It was a nice change from the usual lettuce and tomato and instead having the slaw with the pickled onion and jalapeno! I'll visit again next time I am in town!“

“Visited the Pizza Bar with family after a soccer game. Food was fantastic from multiple appetizers to the pies. Re: the pies -- the pizza was perfect -- and this is coming from a NYr. Great selection of brews. Service 5 stars! At the top of our list the next time we visit home. 😍“

“This is a great place to go if you like watching sports. The crowds can be lively and enthusiastic when watching the games, but thankfully not unruly or out of control. The menu has a variety of good burger, pizza, and appetizer options. Our server was polite.“

“Sure, it's a strip mall bar that's pretty much a dive, but I love it. Staff is surprisingly attentive and polite for how busy it can get and I've never had much of an issue with the clientele. Love coming hear to watch Hawkeye, Cyclone or Cubs games. Insanely low prices also. One of my favorite bars in the city.“

“This place is the bee’s knees. Consistent fast fresh & friendly. Fair prices too. They’ll modify your order to make you something, even if it’s not on the menu. They used to have a burger I liked that wasn’t on the menu, but our server Levi knew what we were talking about and told the kitchen. The best service we’ve seen for a long while.“

“All around enjoyable place to go and eat! I had the Maui pizza, my wife got the Philly cheesesteak pizza, and our friends shared the buffalo chicken pizza. All 3 types were great! I wish the crust had some sort of garlic butter glaze or seasoning. The 9” pizza was enough to feed 2, the 12” we could have fed 3 and possibly a not so hungry 4th person. Paired with my pizza I ordered the mulberry mule; it was not very flavorful, but wasn’t terrible. The server was friendly and professional. She checked on us often.

The pizza did take a while to come out, I understand it is made fresh however, if it was a full house I could only imagine the wait time. I suggest turning on another stove if they have one during dinner service.

“The atmosphere was very laid back, the food was really good we got buffalo egg rolls, spinach artichoke dip for appetizers I got the Philly cheesesteak and fries and friend got the Nutty Buddy Burger with Cole slaw we really enjoyed both appetizers and our meals. Service was quick and I appreciated how nice our server was also I assume the manager or lead but she kept coming over to make sure we were satisfied and that our food was tasting good! Definitely recommend! The food was a little pricey are tab came to 66$ with no alcoholic beverages but really good!“
