“Tried Whiskey River for the first time last night. I want to preface this by saying that I called last week and asked if they could accommodate a party of 12-15 the next Monday. The girl who answered (i think it was Lacey but im not 100% sure) was very sweet and said they could forsure do that. I told her it was for my daughter's 21st and she even told me she gets a free shot. Over the weekend more people decided to join us. So Monday morning I called back and asked if the could accommodate 25. I also told her we were willing to sit on the patio to make it easier. She said it was no problem and that she would let the night staff know. Lacey was very sweet and professional! On to my review. Our party showed up between 530 and 6 in increments. I was late (I always am lol) and found out our server was Leann (spelling?) She was very sweet and ran her bitt off all night. We are a demanding but kind group so I give her props. Also because we were on the patio there were flies and a lot of the no-see-um bugs. Absolutely, nothing that they could have done about the no-see-ums, but she apologized at the end of our meal anyways. So I thought that was very thoughtful of her. They did have fans to help (it didn't no offense) so I would suggest maybe the fire pits or the tiki heaters to help stave them off. (They are attracted to Co2 and moisture) Not sure if it would work but it's worth a shot :) The food took a little bit for some (we had 25 people order in a 10 min period I am NOT complaining at all) but was hot and fresh (definitely not warmer hot) when it came out. So of the dishes we tried: Wings - Delicious. Flavor and sauce was so good. Dill Pickle Cheese Curds - huge serving. Just the right amount of pickle flavor. Fajita Salad - huge portion of steak well made Whiskey Burger - good flavor. A little too well done but still good Chicken Tenders - flavorful and seemed to be the hand breaded type. Pulled Pork Nachos - Huge portion. Good mix of toppings. Lots of meat. Steak - Cooked to perfection and delicious Chicken Sandwich - Huge. Crispy buy not too. Good flavor. OVERALL 9.5/10 Will definitely be back”

“Just tried Backyard BBQ for the first time yesterday with my family for lunch, and wow — hands down the best BBQ in Iowa! The brisket and ribs were incredibly tender and packed with flavor, literally falling apart with every bite. The staff was so friendly, and the whole place had an awesome atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!”

“Wife and I heard about their great pork tenderloin from a local. Were in town visiting family and went to give it a try. Walked in on a Wednesday right as trivia was starting so it was almost a full house. We did not about trivia. Waitress was very friendly but could tell they were busy with all the trivia patrons. Waited a long time for food and had to go to bar to get drinks a couple of times. Wife gotten tenderloin and I got the cheeseburger wrap. Both were excellent. We both really wanted to give it another try since we understood the circumstances. We returned on Memorial Day and they scheduled for a normal Monday with only 1 bartender(also the waitress) and 1 cook. We met some great people both visits and food again was great and the bartender/waitress(receipt said Randi) was absolutely phenomenal. We will be returning in July and will be hanging out here as much as possible. So glad we gave it another chance!”

I guess I feel when you come to a place you want to feel welcome and have fun. we felt we were more of a hassle for her to help or be friendly. Definitely don't want her to wait on us again.”

“We had County Line cater our son’s graduation party and everyone at the party complimented how wonderful the food was! We even had several say it was the best food they had at all the grad parties they had been to! Food is consistently excellent and Barb is great at communicating when we had any questions and very easy to work with! Highly recommend!”

“not a bad place at all been going here for years. laid back for me music is always an issue for me I like it to sound good it would be nice if it would be cheap but you got to love Touch Tunes. nice and quiet for breakfast everyday wonderful breakfast at that. but when the Jukebox is on it's party time other than when Iowa and Iowa games NFL games are on . great place to watch a game. “This is definitely a small town hangout for the locals it seems. It was our first visit, but everyone else that came in was clearly a regular and greeted by name. That's not easy to find in bigger places!

Our food was really tasty. There's nothing too fancy on the menu. Basically typical Midwest bar food, but it's well executed. Service was prompt and friendly.”
