“Not bad for a little hole-in-the-wall place in Baxter, Iowa. I was participating in a bike ride through the town and don't know if the food and menu were representative of their usual fare (burgers, dogs, and fries), but it fit the bill that day. There's a very nice patio just outside. The inside is small and cozy. Not bad at all.”

“The ice cream was good. Prices are really cheap in comparison to Culver's. We had a waffle cone, a regular cone, and a large cone. The total was 8.75. They do serve regular food too. It was at the end of the day when we went so there were a ton of dishes being washed. It's really small with limited seating out front.”

“What a way to start the day Pam treated me to an over the top in deliciousness Special Italian at PJ's Deli. I ordered mine with pepper jack cheese and ask them to make it an angry Italian by lacing it with Jalapenos. I've eaten mine grilled as well as heated in the past and like both ways, but really do prefer heated. This is a magnificent sandwich from a magnificent restaurant. We in Newton are very fortunate to have have them here.As you can clearly see from the last photo, PJ Deli has earned my coveted cleaned plate award and for sure has my highest recommendation.”

“Nice brewery with a great outdoor space. It is in a low key location and doesn't look much like a brewery. A little sterile on the inside but not uninviting by any means. Regardless, there is a nice selection of beers; everyone will be able to find something they will enjoy. The staff was very nice and helpful. A delightful local brewery to enjoy a beer or two”

“Let me just say, my boyfriend and I tried this place one morning and we’re not disappointed. He has been here three times and it has never failed him. The lotus drinks are his favorite, along with the cookies. The workers are also super sweet and respectful. Will definitely be back!”

“I've ordered a custom cake and custom sugar cookies from Stacy's Sweetstuff (so far) and both items were absolutely delicious and huge hits. The chocolate cake was so moist and flavorful and the sugar cookies were some of the best I've ever had. I recommend Stacy for any custom baking or sweet treats that you need. She is creative and an excellent baker.”

“Although COVID hit hard on business and how dine in and take out are handled, Gio’s has managed to stay true to their roots. Every business has their short comings, some even close down all the way. Trying to navigate a still Covid world and business is hard. Quality vs quantity is where they shine compared the other guys. When a compliant is voiced they make it right. Local business that is not a franchise. Cut them some slack. They also have fish!”

“Stop in here last Saturday it was my first time. I had a 5 shot expresso.(which was also a first) I felt i was given a good run down of a 5 shot expresso when I asked about flavors lol being as I had no idea what I was getting myself into. The Barista was great and knowledgeable. I didn't feel rushed. I had a nice conversation while my coffee was being made. I went with chocolate and it was fantastic. I will be returning again.”

“Probably the best tenderloin I have ever had. Every bite was crunchy and tender. Perfectly cooked high quality piece of pork tenderloin. Very generous size - much larger than the bun. Added a chocolate shake which was also superb. Made from lots of high quality dark chocolate ice cream. Thick and delicious. Service staff very friendly. I will be back!”

“Sugar Grove is an absolutely wonderful wedding venue. Nestled on an old vineyard among some rolling hills northwest of Newton, the property is both rustic and sophisticated in all of the right ways. It offers a main barn that can be used for both wedding ceremonies and receptions as well as several other ceremony sites around the property. We were among the first to make use of a beautiful ceremony location installed by the pond, just a short walk away from the barn. The venue also has a historic building on-site for hosting rehearsal dinners and other events.We cannot say enough about how helpful the owner, Colette, was in planning out our day. She is a huge part of the amazing deal that this venue offers as she acts essentially as a wedding planner, happy to help orchestrate everything that must fall into place at the venue. She did so much to make our experience as stress free as possible.We have included some pictures of our ceremony and reception from our wedding day. Everything went so smoothly for us and we are so happy with how our day went. There are so many more good things to say about Sugar Grove, but we'll leave you to discover them for yourself!”

Hy-Vee handled the donuts(rather than cake), rehearsal dinner, alcohol, deli items to feed the bridal party before the ceremony, and all the last minute item.
