“We were on I80 when the tornado warning/rain/winds forced us off the highway. With no idea where to go, we took 2 right turns then sprinted into the first building we saw with lights. “We were at the beach pub Friday, 9/8. we arrived at 2:00pm intending to have a drink and head for our campground. But our bartender, Sam, was so welcoming and fun we stayed for several hours talking and laughing with her and the locals. the people were so welcoming. We were planning on leaving Sunday but decided to stay 1 more night just so we could go watch the football games with the Beach Pub folks. Thanks to the Beach Pub for a great time. By the way, if you make it to the Beach Pub, you've gotta try the Blue Wave cocktail. it will absolutely wet your whistle!”

“I've been by here many times but stopped for lunch for the first time on a gorgeous day in May 2026 after my niece and I hiked 5 miles at Loud Thunder. It was a place Gemini recommended that was our way home, so we took a chance. This place is really cool with a very nice indoor patio with lots of light and a great view of the river. There's also plenty of seating outside on tables and even a tiki bar with a pavilion. The food was very good and very affordable. I got a double burger with avocado and mushrooms added, fries, beans, and a fountain drink for $15. Everything tasted great and the atmosphere was quite fun.”

“The little guy from upstairs wowed everyone with a small tap dance recital for free on Tuesday. He brought me almost to tears with his rendition Patsy Cline's Crazy also. There wasn't a dry Whisker Biscuit in the room after that and I ended up taking some future ex-wife material home with me later. 10/10 would go back!!!!”

“The Liter is a great place to hang out and watch the games especially if you’re a Hawkeye, St. Louis Cardinals or Packer fan! Be sure to tell the owner, Kutch, “hi” if you have a chance! Also they have sand volleyball!”

It's actually a Dairy Queen that can make a couple of their drinks...but I'll take it as they were still able to make my favorite, Strawberry. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were flies in the food court. Not specific to them at ALL but off putting all the same. I got my drink to go to avoid them.”
