“First time visitors as we are from out of town. The “ads” lured me in, I HAD to go!!! I knew I wanted a February special, I just didn’t know which one! I asked Jackie, and she suggested the Mount Vernon. It did NOT disappoint!!! I loved it so much and truly was refreshing like she said! Thank you for the amazing & friendly service! Everyone was very kind and we spent way too much, but we cannot wait to come back! “I have not been there yet , but I grew up in The area, I have been eating horsey red have so about one and a 1/2 2 years old, I've had their Pizza that other people have ordered, and it was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to get down there and get my own New Years eve.”

“My wife and I were in town for the "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit at the Mid-America Center. Afterward, we looked up restaurants near us and chose La Sierra because several reviews mentioned authentic cuisine. We were not misled. The menu is small and straight forward. Pick your fillings and choose it in either a gordita, burrito, quesadilla or on a plate. We both got selections as gorditas. My wife ordered: Asado De Puerco, Picadillo Verde and Picadillo Rojo. I ordered: Papas Con Carne, Papas Con Chorizo and Deshabrada. I also wound up getting a burrito with Machaca. All the meats were seasoned nicely and delicious. Both the verde and rojo salsas they brought out enhanced the food. The rojo does have a kick (same sauce as in the Desshbrada) but the heat didn't linger so eating it was enjoyable. The margarita I ordered was delicious, made with real lime juice. Some people might complain because it is regular sized, served in a glass roughly the size of a martini glass. It isn't a gigantic gimmick you find in a lot of American-Mexican restaurants. It hit the spot! The fruit empanadas were lovely, the crust similar to a sugar cookie with strawberry or apricot. We tried both and thought the apricot won by a hair. Its sweet flavor was slightly stronger than the strawberry. The service was excellent, both our server and the gentleman from the kitchen (maybe owner) who brought out food to the table were extremely friendly and a pleasure to speak with. We've marked La Sierra in our "must do again" list and when we care back in Omaha, we will be stopping in.”

“I’ve driven by this spot countless times and finally stopped in - and I can’t wait to bring my family and others back with me. This spot is definitely underrated. Their menu is limited and specialized for sure, with only a few main dish options, but this is because everything is super fresh. As a vegetarian, I was pleased that they had a combination of all their different lentils and veggies that they had to offer all put together in a giant plate - and I mean GIANT. Each lentil dish, green, red, and yellow, had a distinct difference in flavor profile. The yellow was my favorite, being the creamiest, and the red was richer and deep - warming me from the inside out. There was also a variety of vegetables from a fresh salad to cooked greens, and then a cooked cabbage. I couldn’t believe that everything was so unique from each other! The mind chutney (maybe?) was a perfect way to add freshness between bites. One piece of the experience that makes it truly unique is that everything is served on their bread rather than with utensils, and you get additional on the side to pull apart and start dipping and grabbing and mixing up every bite.

I left truly stuffed to the brim feeling that every bite had been worth every penny! The ambiance is casual, with pieces of Ethiopian pottery and tapestry hung around. The service was kind and personal, with the chef herself coming out to check on how we were doing and what we liked best!”

Our waitress was phenomenal—I'm so sorry I don’t remember your name, but I truly owe you more for making the experience so memorable. Highly, highly recommend this place! The food was absolutely astronomical, and the drinks were perfect. The coffee was out of this world, too—hands down the best meal I've had in a long time. The overall atmosphere was so comfy, cozy, and relaxed—it’s the perfect spot to unwind. I’ll definitely be back!”

“That was completely unexpected and just DELICIOUS. We went on a Saturday evening based on fantastic Google reviews and they were NOT WRONG! Mexican street food with global influences. Elote corn, Ramen Fries, Asado and Chilango Burrito. The Chilango burrito was the front runner but everything was soo flavorful. It isb ocated on the north side of the strip mall on the northwest side of 50th and L. It is not easily visible from the street. They apparently will be expanding into the next bay. It is very casual (order at the counter) but very clean. It is easily accessible with only a threshold and a swinging door. We spent $40 for 2 apps, two entrees, a soda and a beer. If I thought I could eat more food and live, I would have gotten the Tres Leches Cake. Strongly recommend!”
