4 Best Craft Breweries near Decorah

Pulpit Rock Brewing Company Brewery • $$
207 College Dr, Decorah

“Staying in Decorah for work and stumbled upon this place while out for a bike ride. The building had a very hole in the wall feel to it which I like. Tried the Pour Over Porter (coffee stout 6.8%) and the Oateota (oatmeal milk stout 7.4%) and was pleasantly surprised by both! My only issue was they had the front doors open for open air, and the flies were horrible. But over all a great experience and will be back.*Old review updated to add photo*“

Convergence CiderWorks Brewery •
302 Washington St, Decorah

“Huge open space, plenty of tables and games and events planned! The ciders are dry or semi-sweet. Very creative profiles like elderberry and lavender. We did a flight of 4x and it was about $10. Great place to stop in for a drink! Stay for a charcuterie board too!“

“Always a fun destination! Good food, good service, fun vibe, and good beers. Great outdoor seating when weather allows, huge indoor venue with plenty of seating downstairs. Found out too late that they give brewery tours - will definitely come back for that.Service is always great for as many people they hold. Our server today, Alex, had multiple large tables (10+) and several smaller tables and did a fantastic job with all of us!Food: today I had the southwest chicken wrap and fries - very tasty and fresh. Fries were crispy and delicious when dipped in their homemade ranch. Husband had a bacon cheeseburger and said it was delicious also. We’ve had apps and pizza before and always pleased!Beer: husband went with his usual Pompei and I had the orange seltzer. Both yummy! We browsed through the gift shop on our way out. Didn’t purchase but they do have some unique things. Takeout beer counter was constantly packed. All in all, TG never disappoints!“

PIVO Brewery and Blepta Studios Brewery • $$
101 Huber Dr, Calmar - 8.89 miles

“Pivo brewery was one of our favorite places to stay on our road trip from Florida up to Michigan. We parked our RV there overnight, through the Harvest Hosts program. We liked everything about it.The vibe and atmosphere were cool. The employees were friendly and told us about other places to see in Iowa. For food, we started with the High, Wide, and Handsome Swirls. They are swirls of dough, with stuff inside such as pepperoni. Then we got a pizza. The swirls were fun, and the pizza was delicious. For drinks, they had so many options that sounded good, so Bret got a flight. They all tasted good and unique. For example, the red beer was a strawberry rhubarb sour. And the dark beer at the top was a (takes a deep breath), bourbon barrel aged salted caramel dark chocolate brownie milk stout ?.As for parking overnight through the Harvest Host program, the site was clean and pretty level, and the outside noise wasn't bad at night when we were sleeping. We would love to come back here.“
