Great fried chicken spot. the 4-piece tender combo was excellent. Tenders were crispy and well-seasoned, the mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, and the biscuit was a perfect side. Staff was really kind and made the whole experience even better. Will definitely be back!
Okay so it ain't healthy but I got a thing for fried gizzards and they didn't disappoint. So next time I got that urge I know where to go! It's a lot like your favorite dive bar I guess!

Chester’s Chicken is a great fried chicken spot. The 4-piece tender combo was excellent, with crispy and well-seasoned tenders, creamy and flavorful mac and cheese, and a perfect biscuit. The staff is really kind, extra friendly, and professional. The fried gizzards and fried okra are the best in Des Moines, and the liquor selection is extraordinary. The chicken is moist, crispy, tasty, and phenomenal. The mac n cheese is banging and the biscuits are insane. The medium size Chicken Gizzards, 3 Chicken Tenders, and a Chicken Sandwich were freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable. It is a must-visit place on the Southside of DSM.
