“Really enjoyed the servers, atmosphere, and food here. The gentleman who showed us to our table was very friendly. We had the green beans for an appetizer, a salad, and pizza. All very goodVegetarian options: Several options for vegetarian dishes. Green beans, salad, pizza, and polenta“
“Stopped in here for the first time this week. It's obviously a favorite for locals and was busy even on a Tuesday night. We decided on pizza even though we had gone for burgers. Pizza was loaded with toppings, had great crust and sauce. From my experience I'd say top 3 pizzas in Dubuque. Super friendly and fun staff. It's nothing fancy inside but looks like it has some history. We be back soon to try more of a dinner or fish fry. Great place!“
“Authentic old neighborhood saloon with darts, pool tables and pinball in a cozy room decorated with neon signs and beer lights. Really awesome food by reputation, we were too late and kitchen was closed. Where else will you get a frosted mug for your beer or a chilled glass with partial shaved ice and a straw, making every highball oh so easily drinkable? Great atmosphere if you're looking for old Midwestern charm and character.“
“Parking: They do have a parking lot, however being located downtown, parking becomes limited and you may end up paying on the street and paying a meter is it's before 5, or walk a block or two. Well worth the walk... Always 5 Star treatment and hospitality from the staff and the food never disappoints.“
“A must-try, local, "build-your-own" pizza place.Vegetarian options: No meat? No problem! Several specialties are designed for vegetarians in mind.Dietary restrictions: Includes gluten free dough, and vegan cheese.Parking: There is a small lot behind the building. Not great for wheelchairs, but doable. Mostly due to the front-facing street being busy and narrow. The lot in the back is downhill from the entrance.“
“This is a place you use the don't judge a book by its cover. I had one of the best pork tenderloins. My son never set his burger down after the first bite. Everything was great and the price is even better. Well worth the visit if in Dubuque.“
“I had some slimy spinach leaves in my salad and brought this to the staff's attention after finishing our meal. One of the staff, a young lady with long blond hair, was very apologetic and offered me a refund right when I was about to leave the restaurant. I appreciate their effort to turn this into a positive experience for me.“
“You see this relatively new restaurant attached to a gas station/convenience store and no one would blame you if your expectations were not very high. But what a pleasant surprise Papa Ozz's is. Simply put, I haven't been to a restaurant locally that does all of its dishes as consistently well. There are restaurants that are fancier with more ambitious menus, but most of those would do well to focus on making all of the menu as well as Papa Ozz does. There's nothing surprising on the menu. Great midwestern breakfasts: pancakes, waffles, omelettes, skillet combos and basically any traditional combo of breakfast items you'd want. There's a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and dinner entrees. But a big menu here is not the point. Lots of places have overstuffed menus. The secret here is the care and quality taken with each dish. You can have a great Reuben or Alfredo pasta or catfish etc. They're all done well. And the best fries in town. And we've had excellent service each time as well. This place is just a happy surprise.“
“Confession: I eat here way too much. Historically, I don’t care for pizza unless it is Uno’s in Chicago or Wise Guy’s in Davenport(specifically on Locust). This, however, will get you by quite nicely. It has a similarly spiced homemade sausage as Wise Guy’s combined with a hint of beer/butter crust appreciated in Uno’s. My preference is a sausage or supreme deep. Added to the deliciousness is the $7.50 lunch price for two slices and a soda! A spectacular Dubuque nom shop ?“
“The food is fantastic, some of the best Italian I have ever had. Decor is a treasure for those of us who appreciate vintage traditional style. Warm and friendly staff that make you feel like family. Wherever you live find a way to get to Marcos in Dubuque Iowa.“
“What a fun place to just happen upon! We are passing through on our 6 hour drive home and just needed to feed our three kids and hope they nap after for the last half…. It was SO KID FRIENDLY. Games, they were singing for birthday, kids can watch the pizza be made, and it was a place the kids could just be themselves. Pizza looks amazing!!!! I couldn’t wait to share how excited we were king enough to include that but it looks like it’s going to be yummy!!“
“Walked in at 3:30 in the afternoon. No other customers in the place. There were 4 employees in the back room standing around and we waited 7 minutes before we were noticed. The prep table was a mess, it should have been cleaned. Two of the young men handling food had shoulder length hair, one also had a beard. That curly, long hair should have been tied back...it was not appetizing to look at and is a health code violation.Pizza was great!!!“
“The place hasn't changed at all on the inside (carpet, chairs, etc). We had a family of 8 for birthdays made reservations for seating and when we got there they had no idea of such reservations for a bigger table of 8. They wrapped our to-go pizzas in foil instead of boxing it up which was weird. No more roller skates, or happy cheerful honks like I remember when I was a kid. The arcade is the same machine and the same prizes one of them was out of service no surprise. This place is great for birthdays but keep it real and make it a memory and an experience for the kids.Parking: Lots usually empty depending on hoursKid-friendliness: Great prize ticket system and arcade machine i wish they had more.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking in front for handicap“
