Tried them again after getting a raw pizza from the place across the street. Seems that they've gotten some folks hired. So when my friends kept talking up Smash Pizza, we decided to try it for Mother’s Day. It’s a cute, smaller spot, so just know you might have to wait or do takeout. But the staff made it worth it—our waitress (purple ponytail, wish I caught her name!) was so warm and helpful with recommendations. We started with the bread plate, and listen…that alone was a win. Fresh bread, olive oil, butter, burrata—honestly didn’t even need the extras, it was that good. Now the pizza. I was a little skeptical because Chicago folks know—we like our crust thin with a little crunch. But we went with their Sicilian style and I’m so glad we did. That crust? Light, airy, crispy…nothing like that chain pizza pan crust. Just done right. We got the Queen, and my son tried the mushroom and fried kale. I don’t even like mushrooms, but that fried kale? So good—crispy, flavorful, perfect texture. Everything tasted fresh. Like, really fresh. Hell, even the water tasted fresh, lbs! All in all, this place is legit. I haven’t had pizza like that in a long time—it really reminded me of home. If you’re thinking about going, just go. It’s worth it.“

We don't get to have it as often now that we're farther away, but it's always a treat when we do. “Went to order for delivery and everything went smoothly until the uber driver my order was assigned to STOLE my pizza. I went in and spoke with the manager and he helped me turn in the driver and obtain my refund. They remade my pizza and then added in some extras! We quickly realized we may have waited too long and couldn’t find anywhere taking reservations or walk ins. We came across antonellas and waited for them to open. I’m so glad we did! I’m not sure if we would’ve enjoyed anywhere else quite as much. They were short staffed and still delivered us a perfect meal from the wine to the pasta. There was a slight mess up on order but staff quickly remedied it and more than made up for it. We will definitely get pizza here again. Food was perfect!“

“I really like the product but not the store on 53rd in Davenport. Iowa. The manager assured me it would take 8-9 mins to make my order and he would bring it out to my car right outside their door. I was the only order being made at 1:12 pm. I went in at 12 mins and the manager said it would be another couple mins with no explanation and he promised to bring my order out to my car. At 22 mins I went back in and no one else had placed an order in all that time. The manager would not even come out to talk to me. He made a young man in the back come out and finally give me my order. No apology or explanation given. I will drive to another location next time.“

“Huge shout out to Happy Joe's Pizza & Jungle Bungle - W. 50th took my kiddos here tonight for the first time and had a blast. Staff was off the charts helpful and entertaining. The "Jungle" is massive and the slides are crazy. My 2 and 4 year olds freaked out when they walked in. Pizzas(2 large) were fire and the cheese sticks (we got the large order as well) all the food fed 2 adults, a 9 year old and my littles with plenty of left overs for the late night snack fest. Making this a trip at least a couple times a month from now on when we wanna unwind locally. 100% recommended this for anyone with hyper kiddos.“

“The pizza is good for the price. They are always running good deals. My order has always been hot, fresh, and correct. So far every pizza I've ordered has been consistent. Thoroughly cooked, right amount of toppings, and looked presentable. I believe the quality has increased over the last few years, or perhaps they've hired good employees that actually care about what they serve. Either way, I've been very satisfied and picking up your order using the portal is extremely easy-to-use and saves time.“

We'll be back, probably for dining in or at another location before the special is no longer available.“
