“8/25/24 tonight i am giving them a 1 star. waited 2.5 hr for delivery. was told driver went wrong address. Asked driver and he said different story,my calzone was cold ,mushrooms were cold,wifes alfredo was kinda warm. Normally very happy with them but tonight not good. called twice about order kid on phone said order was out,well 40 mins later still no delivery. VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!!“

“We opted to pick up pizza on our way back to our hotel room vs delivery (which I thought would be a quicker option). Our pizza and bread time was 30 minutes which turned into a little longer - I think it was just a busy night.

“I’m Chicago born and raised, so yeah—I don’t play about my pizza. Deep dish, tavern-style, Sicilian… I love it all. So when my friends kept talking up Smash Pizza, we decided to try it for Mother’s Day. It’s a cute, smaller spot, so just know you might have to wait or do takeout. But the staff made it worth it—our waitress (purple ponytail, wish I caught her name!) was so warm and helpful with recommendations. We started with the bread plate, and listen…that alone was a win. Fresh bread, olive oil, butter, burrata—honestly didn’t even need the extras, it was that good. Now the pizza. I was a little skeptical because Chicago folks know—we like our crust thin with a little crunch. But we went with their Sicilian style and I’m so glad we did. That crust? Light, airy, crispy…nothing like that chain pizza pan crust. Just done right. We got the Queen, and my son tried the mushroom and fried kale. I don’t even like mushrooms, but that fried kale? So good—crispy, flavorful, perfect texture. Everything tasted fresh. Like, really fresh. Hell, even the water tasted fresh, lbs! All in all, this place is legit. I haven’t had pizza like that in a long time—it really reminded me of home. If you’re thinking about going, just go. It’s worth it.“

“We live in Iowa but drove to the Silvis location for my step father’s birthday and brought our toddler with us. The manager that was on duty was one of the kindest people I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant and the food came out fast and was delicious. “Yesterday, Thanksgiving 2025, we experienced the Riverfront Grille for the first time. The staff were happy to see us, friendly and very attentive. Second, the food was outstanding. Turkey and ham were done to perfection, a variety of salads, soups and sides were homemade and delicious. Lastly, the overall experience (including desert) on a busy day was wonderful. “This place opens up at 2pm but must have opened on the day I visited since there were already about 20 people in the brewery when I showed up at 2pm for the FIFA World Cup semi final match. This brewery has more beers on tap than the two brewerys near it (Stompbox and Front Street). This brewery also has food but I didnt order any to comment on it. The strawberry gose was the best beer I tried. Wonderful service by the bartender and I would definitely revisit based on the service and sports viewing provided.“

“We live in North Liberty and last minute made a decision to drive an hour to the quad cities to spend Valentine’s Day. We quickly realized we may have waited too long and couldn’t find anywhere taking reservations or walk ins. We came across antonellas and waited for them to open. I’m so glad we did! I’m not sure if we would’ve enjoyed anywhere else quite as much. They were short staffed and still delivered us a perfect meal from the wine to the pasta. “I haven’t been here in years. I looked online for family deals on Mondays, and I saw the family night on Monday night. So I checked the menu online, and found the Milan Happy Joes has a family special, for $25 and it comes with pizza and pop. Okay. So I call, and order ahead. I honestly think I could have clarified exactly what the special was, but in my defense, I thought I was ordering what the menu showed so it didn’t occur to me to verify. Plus, for years, it’s always been that. Hind sight is always 20/20.

When we arrived, she said drinks were not included, but what would we like. I’m stunned. She got our drinks. I was thinking about this, and my husband came back from the restroom and I let him know that actually the family special is evidently $27.99 and comes with breadsticks and cinnamon pizza. Drinks are not included. So my husband talked to a manager. To which the manager replied, well that’s a Google doc. Which. That is incorrect, Google was the search engine I used….. he also said well that’s Google and not happy joes. So I said okay, let me show you how I got here. So I went to happy joes, clicked deals, and it asked for participating locations. I clicked Illinois, then I clicked Milan. From there, I clicked menu. I screenshotted the menu, and the home page of my phone to show the date I was here, October 6, 2025. Technically I could sue happy joes for them not honoring their contract. However that’s silly and I’m not going to do that. BUT, the menu should reflect what they are selling, and it should reflect correctly.

So, once the manager realizes, that I wasn’t on a “Google docs” as he so put it, whatever that is……he told me he is not responsible for corporate and what they put on their menu. He also said that it’s a lot of food, and I can’t expect that price listed. (I didn’t realize what I was ordering, I thought the family special was JUST pizza and pop)

So. With all that said,

We had, a small pepperoni. A half nacho Joe, and half sausage. The special comes with a tiny cinnamon pizza, and a cheese bread with marinara sauce.

Not one single complaint with the food. Everything was hot, and fresh. I’ve actually never had the cheese bread, or the cinnamon bread, and I can see why they would be on the special, because they were soooo good and possibly the stars of the show. It SHOULD be reflected on the menu.

Would I come here again? I want to say yes, because it’s good, and nostalgic. I just have to pray about my attitude in regards to the conversation I had with the manager, because he made me feel as if I, was the problem.“
