“I haven’t been here in years. I looked online for family deals on Mondays, and I saw the family night on Monday night. So I checked the menu online, and found the Milan Happy Joes has a family special, for $25 and it comes with pizza and pop. Okay. So I call, and order ahead. I honestly think I could have clarified exactly what the special was, but in my defense, I thought I was ordering what the menu showed so it didn’t occur to me to verify. Plus, for years, it’s always been that. Hind sight is always 20/20.

When we arrived, she said drinks were not included, but what would we like. I’m stunned. She got our drinks. I was thinking about this, and my husband came back from the restroom and I let him know that actually the family special is evidently $27.99 and comes with breadsticks and cinnamon pizza. Drinks are not included. So my husband talked to a manager. To which the manager replied, well that’s a Google doc. Which. That is incorrect, Google was the search engine I used….. he also said well that’s Google and not happy joes. So I said okay, let me show you how I got here. So I went to happy joes, clicked deals, and it asked for participating locations. I clicked Illinois, then I clicked Milan. From there, I clicked menu. I screenshotted the menu, and the home page of my phone to show the date I was here, October 6, 2025. Technically I could sue happy joes for them not honoring their contract. However that’s silly and I’m not going to do that. BUT, the menu should reflect what they are selling, and it should reflect correctly.

So, once the manager realizes, that I wasn’t on a “Google docs” as he so put it, whatever that is……he told me he is not responsible for corporate and what they put on their menu. He also said that it’s a lot of food, and I can’t expect that price listed. (I didn’t realize what I was ordering, I thought the family special was JUST pizza and pop)

So. With all that said,

We had, a small pepperoni. A half nacho Joe, and half sausage. The special comes with a tiny cinnamon pizza, and a cheese bread with marinara sauce.

Not one single complaint with the food. Everything was hot, and fresh. I’ve actually never had the cheese bread, or the cinnamon bread, and I can see why they would be on the special, because they were soooo good and possibly the stars of the show. It SHOULD be reflected on the menu.

Would I come here again? I want to say yes, because it’s good, and nostalgic. I just have to pray about my attitude in regards to the conversation I had with the manager, because he made me feel as if I, was the problem.“

“Friendly, fast service. Went inside to order take out. The person that waited on me was personable and helpful in selecting my order and letting me know the deals that applied to my order. Order was quickly filled to perfection and I was out the door. I have gone to this particular Pizza Hut since the early 1970's and I swear the pizza and bread sticks taste the same as they did back then. I am glad it is still around. Started coming to this Pizza Hut back when the Showcase Cinema was right across the street.“

So when my friends kept talking up Smash Pizza, we decided to try it for Mother’s Day. It’s a cute, smaller spot, so just know you might have to wait or do takeout. But the staff made it worth it—our waitress (purple ponytail, wish I caught her name!) was so warm and helpful with recommendations. We started with the bread plate, and listen…that alone was a win. Fresh bread, olive oil, butter, burrata—honestly didn’t even need the extras, it was that good. Now the pizza. I was a little skeptical because Chicago folks know—we like our crust thin with a little crunch. But we went with their Sicilian style and I’m so glad we did. That crust? Light, airy, crispy…nothing like that chain pizza pan crust. Just done right. We got the Queen, and my son tried the mushroom and fried kale. I don’t even like mushrooms, but that fried kale? So good—crispy, flavorful, perfect texture. Everything tasted fresh. Like, really fresh. Hell, even the water tasted fresh, lbs! All in all, this place is legit. I haven’t had pizza like that in a long time—it really reminded me of home. If you’re thinking about going, just go. It’s worth it.“

Girlfriend said it was one of the best burgers she'd ever had, and my 2 brats were perfect. Great prices, great service, highly recommend you check it out.“

“You want a good pie Alfanons will not disappoint. I have had several pizzas from here and have never had a bad one. Alfanos is an authentic Italian family owned business that has been in Rock Island forever. They are carry out only, no dining area andim not sure if they deliver. Definitely worth giving them a try.“

“Just wanna start off by saying that the waitress we had on Saturday evening (Dec 7) was incredible. They had a pizza only menu (due to there being an event at the Arena), and she explained very well why they do that. I told her that I had a dairy sensitivity and cannot have pizza, and she was quick to accommodate! She had the kitchen make me a BBQ sandwich with chips. “Went to order for delivery and everything went smoothly until the uber driver my order was assigned to STOLE my pizza. I went in and spoke with the manager and he helped me turn in the driver and obtain my refund. They remade my pizza and then added in some extras! I greatly appreciated the service, and the conversation, super amazing team of guys that made my night.“

“Shout out to Bad Boyz! I came in sons Late night hungry after working all day and the cook gave us an EXCELLENTly Fried 18 pc, 6 was inferno and it was hitting the right spice!
