“Ate here with friends 8/24 for an evening meal. I had the baked salmon with French fries and a side salad. The salmon was well seasoned, which was good because I like seasoned food. I would get it again. Others in our party had ribs, catfish and a breaded tenderloin smothered with gravy. I think they liked their entries. The service was efficient, and the young female server was friendly. The place appeared clean and there was ample parking. Prices were reasonable and the menu varied. Definitely would eat here again.“

“This family-owned business has been serving some of the best food in Iowa for 30 years. The portions are huge; I usually take home half for dinner. The Last owner ran the place decently, but I missed the Ottumwa quality of the triangle chefs. To my great surprise, Dave, the owner, is back, and everyone I have gone there with says the food is much better. Even some of my picky friends agree“

“I recently had a date night with my 13yo daughter. We hadn't been to Istanbul in years so decided that's where we wanted to go. They were so very friendly, food was fresh, hot and served relatively quickly. We can't wait to go back!!“

“Location used to be called "The Broth Lab". I thought maybe it had undergone a change in ownership, but it appears to simply be a rebranding, as some remnants of the previous menu still exist (three different types of noodle bowls - two ramen, and one with rice noodles).
Experience was positive, and a tip was left after my visit. However, I would advise others that the expected average price is NOT "$10-20". Unless you plan on ordering an appetizer and no entrée, only a single menu item was $13 - a rather unremarkable-sounding cheeseburger with pickles. All other menu items ranges between $17 and $24, and would therefore easily hit a minimum of a $20 order just by adding a drink, even a nonalcoholic option like soda or tea. Even the cheeseburger falls within this range, should one want to add fries - which makes the item $17 instead of the $13 mentioned earlier.
This factor did not negatively affect my experience, but I felt it helpful to share in order to inform others what to expect.“
