“We enjoy stopping in every so often for drinks. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. They serve frozen pizza for those who want a quick snack, but we haven't tried it yet. In the warmer months, they have Thursday steak night, which is very affordable. My steak was very good, but my husband's was tough. So those are hit or miss. The sides are plentiful.

It's one large industrial type space. Do it can echo pretty good when things get loud. There are plenty of TVs around to watch your favorite teams.“

“I’ve been a regular here for years until I moved to another city but I still work in Grimes and I got my co workers food today from here. The bartender was super nice on the phone and in person. When we got the food back to my office everything was perfect. The food was amazing. My boss who usually trashes anything I order if it isn’t something in his usual food places, well he absolutely loved it and said next time we ever get burgers that’s where we are going from this point on! “My family and I recently stopped at Smash Park in Des Moines on a whim for some family fun and food. The atmosphere was laid back and our kids thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pickle ball courts and the arcade. Food, dessert and drinks were all crowd pleasers! And to go completely over the top, we left our blanket outside and Jerry answered my phone call, went outside to retrieve it from the bench where I left it, and mailed it back to me free of charge. In a world where kindness and customer support are harder and harder to come by, Jerry and Smash Park get a 10/10 from this family!!!“

“Courtney was our bartender tonight and she is AMAZING! Huge selection of drinks and each one is better than the next. Service is friendly and the patio is warm and welcoming. They don’t sell cigars anymore but they are walking distance to a smoke shop and you can smoke on the patio. The butterscotch martini is SO GOOD. if you have an opportunity to stop by for a drink from Courtney you absolutely need to.“

“I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! It appears they have their do no recommend set so that your post cannot publish. Called this morning to let the staff know we were going with a group of 12 and they said that would not be a problem. In an hour our group received water and a drink order placed but never got it. The same server continued to wait on other tables, make drinks for other tables and made no effort or hurry to make ours or come back to take our order. In addition, the bartender continued to walk around and socialize rather than makes drinks. We even wrote down our whole order and patiently waited for her to come back to make it easy for her. This is the second that we have attempted to come to your establishment with the same results.“

“This is a fun little bar if you're headed to a concert at Val Air. It's full of regulars But we didn't feel judged as outsiders as we walked in. It's an old building with a dive bar feel But there are certain things that make it feel like someone really cares. For example the drinks like screwdrivers and greyhounds are made with fresh squeezed juice, the bartender rotates the glasses, and everyone has greeted as they walk in the door. The only downside is that it's a cash only bar and the ATM was down so we had to leave.“

“Highly recommend! Very glad that we stopped here on our way through Iowa. Had a bunch of different appetizers (portobello fries, roasted Brussels sprouts, pretzels with beer cheese, pub salad) and beignets for dessert, all of which were delicious. They have a huge variety of beers, as well as some really tasty cocktails, and we enjoyed creating our own flights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bartender in particular was very knowledgeable about all the different breweries, styles and particular beers. The space was clean and comfortable. “Looking for a night out without going downtown or west Glenn? This is the place. Karaoke on Tuesday, trivia on Wednesday. Lots of regulars including myself. We don’t bite and love a good time. Unlike other places, you won’t get weird looks for being new here. 4 Pool tables, 2 dart boards, 3 slot machines with Ridgemont tickets (each worth a dollar at the bar). It’s a good sized place so you can find your own area or chat with a new friend. I’m an honest guy, worst thing about this place is the urbandale and Windsor heights cops linger because they smell a good time. Just get a ride if you have too much fun.“

“Came here with a group on Friday night. Bartenders were awesome, you walk up the bar and they would notice you within 30 seconds. Pretty spacious bar, wish there was more room back by darts and the other games. Free popcorn to munch on but they either ran out or shut it down around 9.
