“My family and I recently stopped at Smash Park in Des Moines on a whim for some family fun and food. The atmosphere was laid back and our kids thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pickle ball courts and the arcade. Food, dessert and drinks were all crowd pleasers! And to go completely over the top, we left our blanket outside and Jerry answered my phone call, went outside to retrieve it from the bench where I left it, and mailed it back to me free of charge. In a world where kindness and customer support are harder and harder to come by, Jerry and Smash Park get a 10/10 from this family!!!“

“10/10 - we came last night, had never been. Cutest little place, kindest wait staff, everyone was helpful! The food was SO good. We had the spin dip, delish. Also had hot ham + cheese w/ onion rings, delish. My boyfriend had the French dip w/ fries, said it was delish as well. I gave some left over onion rings to my mama to have today for lunch & she’s ready to make a trip up for dinner. I will drive the 30 minutes for this food & service often!!“

“Awesome pub, really cozy feeling, great decor and mood. Great beer selection as well! Along with some of the best fries I think I have ever had. The Paddy Melt was delicious.
Will be back for sure! Gotta try some of their other burgers since the melt left such a good impression.

“Courtney was our bartender tonight and she is AMAZING! Huge selection of drinks and each one is better than the next. Service is friendly and the patio is warm and welcoming. They don’t sell cigars anymore but they are walking distance to a smoke shop and you can smoke on the patio. The butterscotch martini is SO GOOD. if you have an opportunity to stop by for a drink from Courtney you absolutely need to.“

“yes.....HOWEVER it's hit OR MISS!!! Sometimes it's literally freezing in there. and today.. well... today 😡🙄 Stopped in for a late lunch on my way home. I was so excited the overhead doors were open! Well, new shift bartender comes in and CLOSES THE DOOR. 🙄😡 If you have TWO tables who are sitting directly in front of the door, looking at you crazy while you struggle to close the door, maybe you should ask if they mind. I immediately CLOSED my tab. And the bartender just laughed about it when both of her waitresses let her know their tables were asking why the door was closed. It's Iowa, we crave days like this and being able to enjoy them. I would not have ordered my food if I knew the door would be shut, I would just go home and sit on my deck!!!“

“They have the best lunches, I had a chicken salad on a croissant , it was delicious. They make a great BLT as well, my co-workers order more then me, but they find everything really good, I even heard a delicious come from there mouths. Your missing out if you don’t try them.“

“A nice little bar. Great conversations. Friendly bartenders but they'll kick you out if you're trouble. Loud music on the Touchtunes / jukebox. 5 overhead flat-screen TVs. No food served but chips are available for purchase. Might even see an occasional Amishman come in and sell naked goods.. Pool table for those so inclined. Nice little place. Come on down to sit at the bar and read a book.“

“This is a fun little bar if you're headed to a concert at Val Air. It's full of regulars But we didn't feel judged as outsiders as we walked in. It's an old building with a dive bar feel But there are certain things that make it feel like someone really cares. For example the drinks like screwdrivers and greyhounds are made with fresh squeezed juice, the bartender rotates the glasses, and everyone has greeted as they walk in the door. The only downside is that it's a cash only bar and the ATM was down so we had to leave.“

Had a bunch of different appetizers (portobello fries, roasted Brussels sprouts, pretzels with beer cheese, pub salad) and beignets for dessert, all of which were delicious. They have a huge variety of beers, as well as some really tasty cocktails, and we enjoyed creating our own flights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bartender in particular was very knowledgeable about all the different breweries, styles and particular beers. The space was clean and comfortable. It would be the perfect place to host a party. Wish we had this place in our city!“

“I stumbled upon this bar on my trip across country recently. I stopped mainly because I run a fantasy football league, with GOAT as the main theme.Got there just in time to catch the end of a football game had some great food and really rich bar staff.“

“Looking for a night out without going downtown or west Glenn? This is the place. Karaoke on Tuesday, trivia on Wednesday. Lots of regulars including myself. We don’t bite and love a good time. Unlike other places, you won’t get weird looks for being new here. 4 Pool tables, 2 dart boards, 3 slot machines with Ridgemont tickets (each worth a dollar at the bar). It’s a good sized place so you can find your own area or chat with a new friend. I’m an honest guy, worst thing about this place is the urbandale and Windsor heights cops linger because they smell a good time. Just get a ride if you have too much fun.“

“Came here with a group on Friday night. Bartenders were awesome, you walk up the bar and they would notice you within 30 seconds. Pretty spacious bar, wish there was more room back by darts and the other games. Free popcorn to munch on but they either ran out or shut it down around 9. Bathrooms were clean, and we loved that they have their own parking. They offer TouchTunes to play your own music but it Is limited compared to other bars I have been to. Will be back!“

“Not a bad little joint out west a bit on Ingersoll Ave. Situated on a hot little block with a couple really good restaurants and another divey type bar. Small, yet cozy with a big widow looking out to the street, a jukebox, pinball and pool table. Owner operated with a ‘I don’t give a shit’ attitude but in a loving and caring way.“

“Sat at the bar around 9:30pm on a Saturday. IDs were checked at the door which made ordering drinks a lot quicker. They specialize in various flavors of Moscow Mules. Beer selection was also quite extensive. The bartenders were extremely efficient, especially Trevor. I told him what I was looking for and he created a cocktail based off of that. The DJ started right before we left. Wish we had the energy to stay for that. Overall, great place with great ambience.“

Called this morning to let the staff know we were going with a group of 12 and they said that would not be a problem. In an hour our group received water and a drink order placed but never got it. The same server continued to wait on other tables, make drinks for other tables and made no effort or hurry to make ours or come back to take our order. In addition, the bartender continued to walk around and socialize rather than makes drinks. We even wrote down our whole order and patiently waited for her to come back to make it easy for her. This is the second that we have attempted to come to your establishment with the same results.“
