The first time I visited it was around 8:30 pm on a Sunday. The place was absolutely packed. They'd run out of food, and so I wasn't able to order anything. But obviously some Sunday restaurant options are needed in Grinnell. I was finally able to circle back again this week, and I'm glad I did. It was very empty on Friday for lunch. The portion sizes are generous and good for sharing, and the cost was very reasonable. I ordered the chana masala, basmati rice, and tandoori roti. There was plenty for 2 to share with leftovers, and it came to about $17. I asked for medium heat, and there really was no spice to speak of. I'll definitely ask for hot next time. They have Beyond Meat on the menu, which is cool, but not for any vegan options, which is a bummer. The vegan options in general are a little slight in comparison to most mainstream Indian restaurants. Since this place is fully vegetarian, it would be nice if they would have a listed vegan alternative for more options. I would definitely go back again, especially if in the area since there are so few vegan options in Grinnell. I love it that it's right off the highway, which makes it convenient for roadtrips.
Food out in about 15 min. Tasty vegan/vegetarian options. Parking for about 6 trucks. Will stop again!!
Kadhahi paneer and daal makhni was great and their garlic naan is the best

What a welcome surprise on route 80 in Iowa! Especially if you are tired of the same chain restaurants along the highway. Excellent Indian food made to your spice level and quick service. I would be a regular visitor if I lived here, but make a point to stop here as I travel through Iowa. Has free WiFi so you can catch up while eating ?

Tonight we thoroughly enjoyed Samosas , Beyond Tikka Masala, Kadai Paneer and Garlic Naan. We should have ordered rice too. We’re thrilled to have delicious Indian food in town. We have leftovers for tomorrow too. The Samosas are spicy but not angry hot. Many thanks for amazing cuisine.

I-80 Dhaba is an unexpected surprise. Modeled after roadside stops in India, they serve all-veg tandoori options as well as vegetables and dumplings in delicious gravies and excellent, thin, and crispy naan.

Beware what they call poutine is not poutine it’s just fries. Ridiculously overpriced feeling cheated. Quantity is also super low of everything. Rice is not included.
