“Nite Hawk was one of the highlights in a day where we roundtrip cycled from Ankeny to the High Trestle Bridge in Madrid! Located immediately off the High Trestle Trail in Slater, this place is extremely bike friendly, and a fun stop. We had decided to visit on our way to the Bridge, and about 35 miles later, we were so glad to stop here. Loved the atmosphere, the overall indoor/outdoor vibe. Enjoyed a tasty burger and fries, good pricing and great customer service. I'll visit every time from now on!“

“absolutely phenomenal food especially the Fresno Burger and with fries for only 9 bucks it's a steal you can't get that anywhere else I highly recommend this to tourists or locals have never tried it“

“Diner type restaurant attached to a grocery store. You order at a counter and seat yourself in the dining area. At least for breakfast, it’s a very good value. The whole meal pictured (both plates) was only $10 — definitely very filling. My main gripe is that the “fresh fruit” is like 80% melon and doesn’t taste all that fresh. Still a good establishment, probably the closest thing to IHOP / Waffle House in the Ames area.“

“One of my favorite bars in Ankeny! We went there last week and got the cheese curds and buffalo wings...and shocking, they might have been the best wings I have ever had! There was live music which was also awesome. Quick service, kind staff. My husband & I had the best date night there (sat at the bar).“

“We got there 5 minutes before 8pm (closing time for the restaurant part of the business). Hostess and Bartenders were friendly and accommodating. Cheese Curds were amazing as was the burger and fries. We go out to eat a couple of times a week. Usually somethings are not right. But not here. We will definitely be back.“
