Can't believe this was my first visit here after going to school here and spending a lot of time in the Iowa City area. Pleasantly surprised they were open on the 4th of July. Our group was greeted at the door by a woman who ended up being our waitress. She was pleasant and had good food suggestions. Hamburg Inn is a real establishment in Iowa City. Its been years since weve last been but I'm happy to say the food is really high quality stuff. The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere, just slightly slow overall. Highly recommend the skillet and my wife loved the corn beef.
For whatever reason there is a 3% charge for using non-cash payment which is something I don't understand, but overall I still very much recommend the place!

It's got that old Diner atmosphere with a lot of memorabilia on the walls.
The burgers are outstanding.
Sounds good to use a little bit more variety of vegetables but still they're pretty damn good.
