“My husband and I love boutique inns, and since our birthdays were on either side of our nieces wedding last weekend, we chose the Tremont.

The owners are very gracious, and very honest. The flight of stairs up to the rooms is steep, and I have knee issues, but there are handrails on both sides and since there were never crowds of people entering or leaving at the same time, it was fine.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The bathrooms are modern and they supply high quality, sustainable bath products. (We were upgraded to a king room, which was super sweet.) The bed was firmer than I’m used to, but the pillows were so great that I slept well every night.

We ate at Tremont on Main our first night, arriving just before they closed the kitchen. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable.

We had breakfast at the Tremont Grille most of the days we were in town. Super convenient to get my morning espresso fix and again, the staff was awesome. They even made us breakfast even though we arrived later than their typical hours.

Both restaurants feature jazz and Great American Songbook background music, which is very relaxing.

I’m a huge proponent of “think global, buy local” and was so happy to support a local business.

(Their overview mentions that they’re LGBTQ friendly, and even though we’re straight, we try to support inclusive businesses. )”

“Every time we go to Perkins it's very friendly, great service and we never wait very long for our drinks or food. The food is very hot and has great flavors that's honestly makes me over stuff myself. That's ok though, because the pie and great atmosphere makes for a great meal, a great evening, I'd even call it a date night. Just like to say thank you to all of the staff, for making my life easier and for making me feel like I am at home. Keep up the great service all of you!”

“I dined here years ago one time, & this was my 2nd visit. I am following a keto plan, & was able to have the Legend's burger with no bun, well done, with a condiment cup of dill pickles, & broccoli instead of fries. It fell within my plan & was delicious. Our waitress Hannah was excellent, & very kind. 5⭐️
My only issue was that the bathroom door lock/doorknob is broken, so hopefully they'll change the knob soon.
Overall it was a great lunch. Very pleased.”

“Was coming through Marshalltown and wanted to stop for lunch. Headed to DQ because that’s always fun to enjoy. The folks at the S. Center St DQ were friendly and upbeat - something you don’t always see in the restaurant business. Lacey was great at the front counter; our food came out fresh and hot, it was great! The manager and employees greet customers while their dining and ask if they need anything. I can tell that their mission is serving people. It really shows in the culture. Would recommend 👍🏼”

“The food is always good. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten my order wrong either which should be normal but at other places that’s not the case. You usually pull over to wait for your food but that’s because it’s made fresh and you’re really not waiting that long. They also run promotions to support local programs. Give them a try!”

Kid-friendliness: Yes, they are kid friendly and have crayons and a kid's menu for them to color.”

“I ordered online and picked up in the drive through for lunch during work and it was a typical burger king experience. I got everything, but the whopper that I ordered with bacon and cheese was suspiciously missing the cheese. Typical of burger king. At least the food was hot and tasted as burger king should. I may be back, and if I am, I will plan on something being not as ordered since this is apparently the king's way.”
