Franklin Street Brewing Company Brewery • $$

“This is not our first visit to this gem close to the water feature paddle sport play hole on the Maquoketa. Originally known for their brown ale, this brewery now has some solid sour offerings and a unique blood orange IPA. The Four Norseman IPA is also a solid offering in an admittedly crowded IPA field. Clean comfortable physical plant and you can bring in carryout from local restaurants. Great staff.“

“Went again last night (technically the 3rd time I've been here) and this time we took our kids (13 & 17).The food was top notch again and very reasonably priced, eldest teen who just had a birthday decided to go here instead of a "fancier" place in town, they were not disappointed.Lots of games of pool and very full bellies.Would definitely recommend. It's the perfect no frills but good eats place.Julie is just smashing (real nice woman). We are definitely adding this place to our rotation of "eating out" places locally now that we know the kids love the food too! Can't comment on the "bar" side of things as neither my husband or myself drink alcohol.Fun night for sure!I'll try to remember to get pics next time!“

“There was a large crowd of us who stopped by after braving the wild rapids just outside this location. We staggered in separately so that may be why the server decided to only service 3-4 people at a time at our table of about 16. We were ok with that but things did get forgotten, such as a drink that took way to long and a few requests for water. The place was rather busy for a Saturday lunch time. However, we never felt crowded in the roomy seating area inside. I saw someone with a pizza at the bar and felt I needed to give it a try. A 14 inch pizza just cheese was $12 and $2.00 for each topping, sounded like a great deal. It was more than enough for me and my +1, with 3 pieces for a snack later. I would say the taste was very good but not something I needed to go 1 hour out of my way for. If I was in town, I would get it again though. Someone next to me ordered the burger and it looked like it had fresh ingredients and was a hefty size. All in all I would go back if I was in the area.“

“We visited on a Saturday and it was busy. The food was good but not great service was good but not great. Atmosphere was fantastic. There was not one thing "wrong" it just wasn't over the top awesome. I promise to give them another shot because the drive there and the view once we got there were worth it.“
