“We celebrated a birthday last night at Izumi - It was fantastic, not only was our food outstanding, our service was in a league all it's own. Our server was so attentive, so quick with everything he did. We had originally thought we'd have 14 in our party, but ended up with 12, we were seating in a "private" dining room - I can't thank you enough for that - it allowed us to talk freely between the 2 tables and not feel like we were being to loud. Highly recommend the all you can eat sushi, although the hibachi was out of this world too! Thank you for a great experience- will definitely be back. Oh almost forgot the Cotton Candy Vending machine was magical too!”

“I have visited SushiYa many times because the food is always of the highest quality and the service is impeccable. The creative presentations of the chefs is comparable to what would be found at an expensive Japanese Restaurant in a very large city, so dining at SushiYa is affordable and uniquely special! Waiting times are very short (if at all) and availability of close parking is a plus.”

“We have been to Micky’s several times since they opened the NL location. We ordered takeout tonight and when we arrived, someone else had taken our food. They were very quick about remaking our order and correcting any issues. Adam (the bartender) was very kind! We will absolutely return!”

“TLDR: Smash is a low-key, bright, little spot to get clean food offerings & houseplant lighting envy w/ indoor, seasonal outdoor seating, a drive-thru that works well w/ their preorder options. It’s the kind of smoothie shop you’d expect in a cosmopolitan big city w/ small city touches. Smash smoothies are made with real fruit & their juices tend to be unexpectedly delicious–like heck no these ingredients shouldn’t even taste palatable together so why is this so good?!–delicious. Smash has quiet indoor seating away from the UIowa hustle & bustle. The spot also has seasonal sidewalk-cafe style outdoor seating that seems pet friendly. You can preorder online & pick up your order via their drive-thru if you’re just driving from one end of the corridor to the other. Iykyk they’re awesome w/ preordering. One of the two owners is a congenial woman who is knowledgeable & bubbly about their offerings.”

“Good coffee shop for locally roasted and brewed coffee. Love the cold brew and giant of the earth pour over as well as the chai tea to name a few. A local gem and great for people who like a better cup of coffee. Lucky to have them in the Iowa city area. Wish they could get the business back after COVID to be open later at night particularly at least the downtown location and now the north liberty location with the opening of the new hospital in north liberty.”

“I had my graduation party in one of the event spaces, and it was amazing!! The bartenders and caterers were so hardworking, and Mackenzie (our event coordinator) made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommended!!”

“I booked the party room for a party of 22 for my brother's graduation. The initial manager I spoke to (I think Amanda?) was amazing, helpful! Another manager greeted us when we arrived (I didn't catch his name) super friendly and welcoming! We had a lot of kids in our party, our waitress, Emerson, was AMAZING! The food and drinks were fantastic!!!! Would highly recommend!!!”

“Todd and his crew catered our wedding this weekend. He is so kind and you can really tell that he cares a lot about his clients and making sure that everything is perfect. We did pulled pork/chicken sandwiches, baked beans, mac and cheese and cold slaw. I am a mac and cheese fanatic and I have never tasted mac and cheese quite like that! Everyone loved the food and had such good things to say! Would highly recommend for any event!”

“I've been here quite a few times and have always gotten a Tea Bomb because they're so good. Today I tried the Cherry Dilly Shake and it was delicious too. Over the years the Menu has definitely evolved and I like the additions. However, it is a little confusing that some of the old menus are still up with the new and now there are order slips that don't even cover most of the options. I would also like to see the nutritional info for the main menu items. It's hard to know if anything here is actually as healthy as they claim without that info. Also, when I asked about specific nutritional values (although the employee did seem knowledgeable) the info they gave me directly conflicted with the very vague nutritional range given on the actual menu. The dining area has always been clean. I like that there's a kids play area and now a rewards program. Thank you for adding the up charges for add ins to the menu. But I would visit a lot more if I could tell the nutritional components of what I was putting in my body ?.

Dietary restrictions: They have dairy free protein powder...and it doesn't taste like peas lol”

“Selection and cleanliness are both great but the reason I wanted to review was actually for the mother’s room- it is my first time using one provided by HyVee and it was so nice! It was private and comfortable. There was a place to nurse, change the diaper and wash hands all in one place. It was unexpectedly very nice and I am grateful. We were able to get our groceries AND take care of our four month old 💕”

“My kind of dive bar! Will definitely be going again! The staff was exceptional... Very attentive. The owner seemed very nice as well. I stumbled on a night of volleyball going on outside and trivia inside. Seemed like everyone was having a great time. I had the sirloin and mashed potatoes for dinner. Was ok but I plan on trying other dishes. Has a little more than your typical bar food.”

“I loved this place so much! I was in town visiting family from Wisconsin and my dad and I came here for brunch today (7/14/2024) before I had to drive back home. I don’t recall our servers name but they were so, so sweet! My dad has been there a ton and loves the corned beef hash. I tried the ah-nold sandwich. Hands down the most amazing sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t wait to visit again!”

“I’m pretty positive this is my first ever review, but I really needed to answer your crew’s question and to compliment them.

1.) The best guess I could give, for the mystery flavor, is maybe like a combination of toffee and the smallest amount of macadamia? Either way it’s growing on me!

2.) I have never gone to a business, and immediately just feel like i’m talking to some friends. Your 9am crew was absolutely amazing today and they definitely deserve a thank you.

“As a former professional brewer and certified beer judge, I can honestly say that the beer at Field Day is as good as it gets. I sampled many of the lagers and IPA’s, and all were excellent. The Czech Pils was my favorite. The food is also great. We sampled the egg rolls and gyro loaded fries. Service was excellent. There were a couple of beer order snafus, but our server, Madi, made it right. The Iowa City area craft beer scene is great, and Field Day is at the top of my list. Great food, beer and service. And the atmosphere is really good, too.”
