“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sakari Sushi is hands down my favorite place for sushi in Des Moines! The food is always incredibly fresh, and the sushi is the best in town, no question. What really sets this place apart is the staff. They’re phenomenal, friendly, attentive, and always moving with purpose. You’ll never catch anyone just standing around; they’re constantly making sure everything runs smoothly and guests are taken care of. Special shoutout to our bartender Jake for mixing up the best drinks. His Painkiller cocktail is an absolute must-try! Whether you're a sushi lover or just looking for a great night out, Sakari never disappoints.“

“Masao in Des Moines blew me away. Caitlin was such an awesome server—super attentive and friendly—and Nick, the owner, made the night extra special by sneaking me a few extra sushi pieces to try (and wow, they were delicious). The food here isn’t your typical sushi spot at all—it’s next level. The French tapas were spot on, and everything I tried was amazing: the Ayu and Isaki sushi, clams in lemongrass broth, peach soup, and the fruit and goat cheese tart to finish. On top of that, the space is beautiful with a clean, minimalist vibe. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Check them out before the secret’s out and everyone’s fighting for a table!“

“My husband and I decided to do an impromptu date night and showed up here. Everyone was exceptional, from our greeting by Elvira, our server Joanie, and we even chatted with the GM Tyler who happened to be in tonight. Joanie let Tyler know it was our first time in and he was kind enough to surprise us with the most flavorful, mouth watering brussel sprouts we have ever had. Everyone was so attentive and the vibe was awesome. I am not a sushi fan, but know my hubbie loves sushi so I wasn't expecting much. The vegan options are great! I had the Eden roll and was so impressed that I can't wait to go back and try more vegan rolls! We had the chocolate egg rolls for dessert and o.m.g. Save room you guys. You won't regret it!! We will totally be back, I have to try more!“

“Over all, everything was good. The pieces of mackerel were gigantic, which I don’t mind, and the service was good - everything came out fairly quickly. My one gripe is I also ordered the volcano roll, which should have been krab, scallops, eel sauce and I think spicy mayo on top of a California roll, but either I was served the wrong thing or they just did not include the scallops and eel sauce on top. Just krab and spicy mayo… ):“

“Stopped by for dinner with a friend Saturday night and had another fantastic experience and meal!
There was plenty of close open parking, we had a prompt, warm welcome and we felt the staff appreciated our visit from the first moment!
We had our choice of a booth or table, which I always love, and we were sat immediately and greeted shortly after by our very kind and attentive server.
Our drinks arrived within a minute or two and we were so excited to order the pot stickers that I forgot to take photos of them before they were practically inhaled! This appetizer showed up hot and delicious as always and the sauce that comes with them is my favorite in town!
Our meals also came out hot, delicious, as ordered and very promptly! I I would estimate we had them within 8-10 minutes and they were also plated beautifully! I had the orange chicken and I would recommend it to anyone!

“Cool Basil has been a long time favorite of my wife and I. We hadn’t been there in a while when we stopped in for lunch today. The atmosphere was noticeably different. They were playing a funky smooth jazz music where every song sounded the same. I liked the previous light/classic rock mix much better. The staff seems to have completely changed since we were last in. We didn’t recognize anyone, whereas we were on a first name basis with much of the previous staff. The service was noticeably slower and less friendly. The food was still very good. I ordered my usual spice level 2 and it was very, very hot. Much hotter than it used to be. I’m just wondering if they are under new ownership or management because it is a very different experience from a year ago. I still recommend Cool Basil, it’s just not the familiar place that we loved anymore.“

“Great pizza Combo, Grinder,& Pepperoni pizza were fabulous. French fries were good. We picked up and took home. 6 customers 3 had never tried and really liked it. Great cs via phone thanks Mike. Everything was ready in 30 min for pick up and was hot when we sat down to eat. Will definately repear our business. When you find great pizza!!!!“
