“Terrible experience, very disappointed with our visit today. We talked about going there all weekend because we enjoy the 86. Drove over an hour to get there by four today because they were closing early. The girl at the front was very sweet. We were very excited to be there and told her it was our first time there. She said we could sit down and order or go to the bar. We sat down and several servers looked at us, but no one waited on us. We went to the bar and said we had never been there before. A guy said there is a menu on the counter but I'll be over there cleaning, let me know what you want and walked away. We had no idea what we were doing since it was our first time there. I wanted to try wines and my husband whiskey, but not if no one wanted to wait on us. So, we looked at each other and decided to leave. Once in the parking lot I realized it was a long way home and I should use the restroom first. So, I went back in, and I told the girl behind the counter we were leaving because no one waited on us, but I needed to use the restroom first. When I came out of the restroom she said to enjoy the rest of our day. Would have had a better day if we could have tried something... Went from very excited to be there to can't wait to leave...“

I’ve had sushi in a lot of different places all over the United States and nothing holds a candle this place. Happy ell Maki and Manhattan roll are my favorite. And don’t forget the squid Otsunami salad!!“

“Seriously great. Some of the best pizza in Iowa City. The staff is so friendly and accommodating — the menu and vibe can be a little confusing on your first time but they take great care of you! The chicken lips were great as well, I’m so glad I tried them despite the name being a bit off-putting 😉 Can be a little pricey for college students, but I feel it’s worth it.“

“I am a celiac and was pleasantly surprised that they have a whole gluten-free menu with lots of options! One of the servers said that she is a celiac, too. That was cool.
The only thing that made me nervous was the wooden cutting boards they served my gluten free food on. Not sure how they clean them, or if they keep them separate from gluten serving boards, but I know we should mistrust all wooden utensils due to their absorbency. These had obvious cut marks on them and everything.
Happily though, I didn't feel and signs of being glutened. With major gluten ingestions I definitely feel symptoms, and I had none to report here. Hopefully that bodes well.

Dietary restrictions: Celiacs may want to be wary but I think that, pending confirmation about their serving boards, this should be safe. I did not experience symptoms of having gotten glutened, at least. The food was delicious.“

“We hadn’t seen our son for a while and are here for his wedding Saturday, and came here for dinner. \nIt was very crowded for a Thursday night but he got reservations.\n\nWe started with two delicious appetizers, burrata cheese with sliced toasted bread and calamari (a picture of the mostly eaten calamari is attached- I wasn’t even that fast to get a picture of the burrata.\n\nOur son and I had the fiver scallop special that was a little spicy but very good (picture attached).\nMy wife had a large farro salad with a large piece of salmon filet on top ( picture also attached).\n\nWe shared a tiramisu for dessert (picture inserted below) delicious also.\n\nThe one main shortcoming was how loud it was, I couldn’t hear any of the conversation.\n\nBeza and a couple others did a very nice job helping us, the service was excellent“

“SO happy to see that Saigon’s Corner is now on Chomp! (Maybe this isn’t new, but I don’t remember seeing them there before). We got a ton of food for a very reasonable price, it was very well packaged (pho broth separate from noodles, veg, protein, etc), arrived in a very reasonable time (even on a Saturday night) and it was all fresh and really delicious. “I helped plan and host a surprise retirement party for a dear friend at Tin Roost in 'The Coop'. Mackenzie, their Event Coordinator, was professional, responsive and very detail orientated. She worked with us quickly to plan the party and checked in at appropriate times to be sure we were still on track. Her recommendations for service, food and layout were spot on. The event service staff was polished and hospitable. Each person we encountered at Tin Roost seemed genuinely happy to be working there.“

“Upon arrival, I was impressed by the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and feels well suited for special occasions—I could easily see myself hosting a birthday dinner here, as the space is also great for photos. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. While I would have been satisfied with just the salsa, I ordered the queso to accompany the chips. The queso was good, but the salsa was the standout.
Although I do not drink alcohol, the waitstaff recommended a mocktail that was the closest I’ve felt to having a margarita in quite some time, which I appreciated. For my entrée, I ordered the Al Pastor fajitas. I am a fan of Al Pastor and have tried it in many places, including restaurants in Mexico City, and I would rank this version among the top. It was incredibly flavorful—slightly greasy, but well worth it. The meal was served quickly and fresh, and the portion size was generous enough to split into three meals.
The staff were all incredibly welcoming, including one of the owners, who stopped by our table to check on us. I took the tres leches cake to go for dessert; as someone who prefers a sweeter cake, it wasn’t quite to my taste, though I would be open to trying other desserts in the future. Overall, I really enjoyed both the atmosphere and the meal and look forward to returning to try more items from the menu.“

And while we could have afforded a pricier venue with linen tablecloths and napkins, we chose Cheddar’s in Coralville to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary. Our favorite item on the menu is their Bourbon Glazed Salmon. I mean, it is delicious and always perfectly prepared. But I want to talk about our dinner last night. Who,e we were there, our son in in esoteric called the restaurant knowing we would be there and wanted to pay for our dinner as a surprise. Well, the manager Jeff said he could not take any credit card information over the phone. Knowing how disappointed our son was, he would personally comp our meal. Our son offered to reimburse him through Venmo, but Jeff refused. When our dinner was brought out, he personally game to our table to explain what had transpired. What he did wasn’t necessary. What he did was make sure we had an enjoyable dinner and that our son got all the credit for it. Cheddar’s was a favorite before last night; it’s even more so now. Thank you, thank you for lovely and memorable evening. Oh, and as for our waiter Dallen, he was generously tipped for his service.“

“Very unique, creative and very delicious food!When we were there, we tried the west coast wrap and it was full of greens and grilled chicken, goat cheese and pistachios.Fresh food, made to order.One goes up to the register to order and then you wait while they fix your food and then you take it and go sit down. They are multi-level, it's narrow and not excessively deep, but there is quite of bit of seating for two people or four people and even if you're just by yourself. There are larger tables up stairs, (they have two floors) The restrooms are on the second floor, as well. Stairs are used to access the second level.They also have very tasty drinks.We had the blueberry lemonade.

Vegetarian options: I do believe that you could get any wrap adjusted to your dietary needs. One could turn a wrap vegetarian. One could add cheese or leave off cheese. I think that they would accommodate that.

Kid-friendliness: I would say it was kid friendly. There is a big front window and it seems like a very fun place that children would like to be.

Parking: Street parking at metered spots, or one could park in the car park(ramps) and walk.“
