“I dont give 5 stars for any company.This is far my favorite bread next Brownberry.I try to avoid not buy the company branded labels like Hyvee, Fareway or Great Value (Walmart brand). Just too bad I dont see this brand in Walmart.i know some Walmart Great Value bread is Country Hearth bread just the private labelHyvee sometimes is under Sara Lee.Just like tortilla- Mama Lupa's has there private label for HyveeSara Lee is just too expensive. Especially at Hyvee and Fair“
“Stopped in on a whim one morning because I was going to go to HyVee to get a loaf anyway but figured I'd try it out. And I was not disappointed! Even just the Honey Wheat bread is good, which is saying something. I bought a lemon poppyseed loaf I'm stoked to try out! Will be returning.“

“This place is a city GEM 💎! Everything is freshly made and tastes absolutely amazing! Everyone is so incredibly kind and the prices are out of this world reasonable. This shop even has a drive through if you would rather not have to get out of your vehicle. If I could give 10 💫 I most definitely would!!!“

“I've been going here my whole life as a Des Moines native and Roosevelt alumnus. But only when I went yesterday did I come to appreciate how seriously good La Mie is. The quality of pastries at La Mie certainly rivals and possibly surpasses the quality of pretty much all of the pastries that I had in France and elsewhere in Europe last year. I think most people in Des Moines are not conscious of how good we have it with La Mie being the staple bakery of the city. La Mie pastries could easily be like $10 each if this was NYC, LA, Paris, or Amsterdam. But they are only charging like a few dollars each. The sandwiches are also solid and high-quality, at least one of the sandwiches is served with brie on it which is super nice. I've had some egg dishes a few times and they were never as mind-blowing as the pastries, but this is La Mie Bakery, not La Mie egg house, so I don't really care. I'm confused at the reviews that complain about the pastries... They probably went here late in the day like a dunce. You have to get here early when everything is fresh. Funny to see reviews complaining about the 45-minute max on indoor seating... These people have obviously never worked in the service industry and have never dealt with the frustration of people lolligagging in a busy restaurant while people are waiting to be seated. This place can get crazy busy, so it makes complete sense. This is a bakery, not a cafe, if you want to go somewhere to linger for hours, go to Zanzibar's or Chain & Spoke, that's what I do. Best thing to do is to get your pastries and coffee and go sit outside in the back, enjoy the sun, live a little.“

“Everything looks delicious here! I got an Ube crinkle cookie, a slice of one of their specialty cakes, and a matcha latte. I loved it all! I enjoyed looking around at the fun mural and decor while waiting for my latte. Friendly staff helped me make the difficult decisions since everything looked so good.“

“Just stopped in for the first time and WOW!!! These macarons are absolutely INCREDIBLE! If I lived closer, I would genuinely be here every single day. I love all of the flavors I picked out, but they gave me a free Cinnamon Bun macaron to try and it was easily the best thing I have eaten in a very very long time. I will be anxiously awaiting the next time I have an excuse to run to Ankeny and pick more of these up! Edited to add: I was so excited about the macarons that I forgot to comment on the delicious coffee I got! I tried The Good Day and it is SO yummy, would definitely recommend if you like your coffee on the sweeter side :)“

“I get cookies to drop off for work clients several days every week. This store always has my order hot, fresh, and brings it right out to my car with a smile. Everyone who works here works very hard. And they care. I love seeing them every morning and have made them the first stop in my client service routes for five years running. 10/10.“

“We chose Molly’s for our wedding cakes and boy did people really chow those down. The cakes for our guests were amazing, but our wedding cake was more than I could have ever imagined. They took my inspiration pictures and executed beyond belief. The cake was incredible to eat and to look at. We were speechless. I would recommend Molly’s for weddings and in general as all their items are so delicious. Thank you so much!!“

“Chacha puts her heart and soul into her community, as well as the baked goods she has in the case. Her cinnamon rolls are massive, a too sweet, and make any Midwest chili night a core memory. The vanilla iced coffee to go keeps you awake on a long road trip and the cookies I brought home hours away were a delightful treat for our young one.“

“Wonderful Mexican bakery! The best part? Very clean. The lady behind the counter was super kind when we asked her about certain items and she kept cleaning and wiping things down. We got some bolillos and conchas. The worst part? There is only street parking but we found a spot right in front.“

“The Bake Shoppe accommodated my last minute need for a birthday cake and WOW am i so glad i came across them!!! They even had cakes in a case and were able to quickly write happy birthday on it and touch it up to be so cute. I will use them for all of my cake needs!!!!“

“I was able to order a gender reveal cake for the next day, and it was beautiful! And the price point was very, very good for a very good sized cake, I was surprised! “Love going to the farmers market and getting a pie or 2. Never disappoint, think I've tried all of the different savory pies (yet to try to sweet ones). I'm a Brit so pie's are a taste of home, but the Aussie's have a much bigger pie culture compared to the UK. Love their sausage rolls too, best i've had outside of "Greggs" in the UK. Sadly they don't often have them at the farmers market anymore.“

“Immaculately clean store! Every staff person we saw greeted us warmly. Staff helped with getting food from the upper shelves and coolers (I am in a wheelchair). Check out was quick, accurate, and pleasant. Having someone help with loading the car was wonderful! Meat counter personnel were attentive and went out of their way to hand us what we ordered.“
