“The atmosphere and drinks are top notch. I can't say the same for service. Apparently it is acceptable to not ask if our group would like anything else AND for the tab to be tossed on our table while walking by? Yes, I am still that person that tips at least 20% because I understand we all have "off" days but that is no excuse. It would have been 100% if the service was there.“

I had an amazing experience at this bar, all thanks to Janie! From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel right at home. Not only is she super friendly, but she’s also a true expert when it comes to crafting drinks. She made the perfect cocktail tailored to my taste, and it was delicious. Throughout the night, she was attentive, efficient, and really made sure everyone had a great time. Janie is definitely one of the reasons I’ll keep coming back. Highly recommend her service if you’re ever here!“

“This place has been a home away from home. NO other bar compares for a place for respite and a moment away from the hectic American lifestyle that is constantly thrown at us from everywhere! They embrace every need and meet you where you want to be. By chatting at the table or reading the room to give you space. And the food is on point every single time, whether an appetizer or meal with the family the food is always fully enjoyed and appreciated leaving everyone satisfied and happy to relax and enjoy the rest of the day! “The food was good. It seems like they're better known for their drinks, though, and I don't drink alcohol. The very nice bartender did mention that they make mocktails, which I did not order. I got the Melon & Prosciutto Crostini and Roasted Pear Salad. Both were delicious, but I thought the portions and amount of toppings/accompaniments were a bit scarce for the price. My friend got the Tilapia Tacos--also good, and a more appropriate size for the price. The service and design of the place were also good.“

“My husband and I have eaten at Aura at least 5 times. We've also hosted group dinners there. The food is FANTASTIC, and the mussels are absolutely delicious. And I'm from the NW, I know delicious mussels! The ONLY thing keeping me from giving it a 5 STAR review is that the music is too loud, and it's monotonous. Please, serve quiet, enjoyable music to go along with your wonderful food.“

Walking into West End Lounge as a Drake alum felt a little like opening a Pabst Blue Ribbon on Greek Street before heading into West End but nobody’s trying to recruit you for a group project. The moment I stepped inside, my brain said, “This is where my GPA went to plateau as my social life flourished.”

Sitting there, watching the game, I felt that old Bulldog spirit creeping back in. West End is one of those rare places that grows up with you: still fun, still familiar, but now with fewer questionable decisions and more appreciation for a stiff drink.“

“Only had drinks, no food so can't rate that. Fun entrance to get in, then stairs to the lower level. Dimmed lighting provides a good atmosphere to enjoy drinks and relax.

Watched the quartet set up their instruments and get tuned up. They started at 8pm and more people filtered in as they started playing. Great group, wished we could have stayed longer.

Great venue, the drinks were excellently made, and the staff was attentive without being pushy. Highly recommend for those looking for live music and delicious drinks with the vibe of days gone by.“

“As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I wanted to try Mash & Marrow while we were near the hotel, and it ended up being a great choice for lunch. The service was excellent, our server was attentive, friendly, and quick with drink refills, which always makes a difference. I ordered the Caprese sandwich with chicken, and it was fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and really well balanced. The sweet potato fries were also delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, exactly how they should be. The other entrées at our table were the Asian salad and the corn chowder, and both were excellent as well. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and well-prepared. Overall, a really good lunch experience and definitely worth stopping by if you’re staying at the Marriott or nearby. Friendly service + great food = an easy recommendation.“

“It's a small, Speakeasy your bar, below Civeche restaurant in Des Moine' East Village. Bree and the other 2 ladies (I didn't get your names) behind the bar made my 1st experience there a great time. Bree made me a great Mezcal Old Fashion. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other cocktails.“
