I ordered the Kalua pork and cabbage and Mac salad. I'm from Maui and was a bit disappointed in the food. Pork had too much liquid smoke flavoring ( a little goes a long way) but was cooked well. The mac salad was blah. It should have shredded carrots and onion in it. Also I would suggest potato mac salad but that's just a personal preference.
This is our favorite place! The food is always amazing (chicken katsu is my favorite) and the service great for us every time. The cashier is a quiet man, but an honest one. One time I had $300 fall from my wallet and didn't notice until later...thinking I'd lost it somewhere else I never thought when we went back two weeks later he would have saved it for us not even knowing our names but that's exactly what he did. Had to take a star away after having the WORST malasada experience of my life! They were so dry and burnt. I felt like I was biting into a golf ball. The picture attached is the haupia filled. The filling was the thing that was so solidified it almos' brok da mout, you know? And not in a good way. I don't know how it happened, but please find Jesus and fix it before someone gets hurt.
