The Gangplank Reviews
The clam chowder was runny and very little clam flavor. The scones were very thin and dry. plus are whole wheat dough. This place has gone down hill the past couple years.
Ya know, I had high expectations for this place. The cod was good, but the chowder tasted either old or out of a can. It was runny, had a bitter taste and got served in a little styrofoam bowl. For the price of about 6 bucks for a barely 8 ounce ladle full of chowder, I kinda was expecting thick, hearty, and good. If you are gonna charge those prices, it needs to be home made..
Had the best gluten free fish today!! Thank you for having gluten free options!

The Gangplank is a must-visit restaurant, known for its friendly and caring staff, beautiful stained glass decor, and delicious seafood dishes. Highlights include the clam chowder, hush puppies, and the best fried fish in Idaho. The South African hake, with its thin tempura shell, is also praised for being moist and flaky. The menu provides great options for kids and offers tasty items like coleslaw and waffle fries. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, clean, and welcoming, making it a perfect stop for travelers and families. The attentive crew ensures good service, even during busy times, helping everyone feel comfortable. Although the atmosphere is simple, visitors come for the delicious food and friendly service. Many guests appreciate the gluten-free options and the variety of substitutions available, such as scones instead of fries or Jello instead of coleslaw. Overall, The Gangplank remains a top choice for a local, family-friendly dining experience.
