Scotty's Drive In Reviews
The food is just meh, but better than most fast food. Fries a little soggy but salted well, they have good ranch and fry sauce. Someone else mentioned their shake had a mint like taste, we got a strawberry shake and noticed the same off, extreme artificial /minty taste. Hard to put my finger on it, but we only ate a few bites and threw it away.
We stopped in tonight 7/3/25 about 6:45 p.m. and it was packed with people. The employees working couldn't have impressed us more! They were busy and on task and efficient and professional. It was truly impressive!
The only reason we didn't give the atmosphere 5 stars is simply because some of the customers with small children were letting the kids walk on the tables and run in and out of the parked cars - IT was maddening and scary to watch as we waited for our food. None...read full review
The food was good, it was our first time there. But what we couldn't believe was that there is no bathrooms for customers! How they survived 60 years without one is truly a mystery. We had to leave and find some place to pee & the Mrs. could not enjoy her food.

Scotty's Drive In provides a classic drive-in atmosphere with tasty food, especially their burgers with flavorful meat. The menu features freshly made meals, though the quality can vary, with some dishes having uneven ingredient distribution and inconsistent amounts of sauce. The fries are generally good and hot, but can be quite greasy. Customers also enjoy their fries and tots, while cheese curds are not recommended due to over-hot fryers that left them hollow.
The service can be unpredictable, with some visits having friendly staff who remember orders and names, while others involve slow service or moody teenagers. The large menu can be confusing, and the restaurant lacks a public restroom, which can be inconvenient for some guests.
The restaurant has a nostalgic retro vibe that appeals to those who have visited over the years. Scotty's Drive In has been in Idaho Falls for 60 years, offering a familiar, old-school experience. Despite some inconsistencies, many customers come back for the burgers and fries, finding the food satisfying and reminiscent of classic drive-in dining.
