Staff was friendly. The food portions are a healthy size. We ordered to go towards the end of the night. My order took a little longer since there was quite a few to go orders. I was offered a free drink to keep me happy because the wait time was so long. Overall, my experience was good.
I went in after loosing my dog of 8 and a half years to get a quick bite as I didn’t feel like cooking or doing anything and the manager came over and noticed I wasn’t okay. And he sat with me for 10 mins letting me vent to him about loosing my dog. Based on the reviews, Happy Teriyaki - Overland Rd - ID is a fast food style restaurant. The folks at this location have always been very kind and courteous. The service is top notch, and the restaurant has gone above and beyond to remake orders so the food is hot and fresh. The food is absolutely amazing, with fabulous portions. The bubble tea makes it even better. However, it is not authentic Japanese food. The cost of the food is kind of high, which is a downside. The last few times, the beef seems to have more fat than usual, and some is just not chewable. The BBQ chicken was not bad, but the rice was clumpy and hard. It is not a really big joint to eat at, and the atmosphere is not really fun. For decent Asian food, it is not a bad place.
