“Great food and awesome atmosphere. However, it was disappointing that the front-of-house staff aren't allowed to wear overalls. Union Loafers management, please change this.”

“We loved the simple perfection of the sandwiches here. They don’t get too fancy with extra toppings or combinations, but the quality and selection is perfect. They have a classic array of sandwiches to choose from, and the 3 that we tried were great! The potato salad was also a nice compliment to the meal. My favorite sandwich that we tried was the Tommy. It was pretty busy so we had to have take out, but the food was still great.”

“I had heard about Pappy's for years before I actually went, which is embarrassing because it's not like I live that far. You hear enough people talk about a BBQ place like it's a life experience and you start to think they're being dramatic. They're not. The line was long when we got there, moved faster than expected, and everything after that was just really good food.
The baby back ribs are what this place is built on and they deserve the reputation. They come out dry-rubbed and slow smoked over apple and cherry wood, no sauce on them by default, and they don't need it. The bark has this slight sweetness from the wood and the rub and the meat underneath is tender without being fall-off-the-bone to the point of mushiness. There are four sauces on the table and you can go ahead and try them, but honestly the first rack I ate without any sauce at all and didn't feel like I was missing anything. The burnt ends were just perfect little caramelized cubes of beef that I kept eating until they were gone. The fried corn on the cob is a weird thing to talk about this much but I'm going to anyway because it's excellent, just a whole cob lightly battered and fried and it's hot and crunchy and a little sweet. We also got the baked beans which had plenty of meat mixed in and a good kick to them.
Counter service, seats yourself after ordering, loud and fun atmosphere. The place closes when the meat runs out so there's a hard daily limit. They're not going to reheat something to serve you the next day and that's the right call. Show up when they open if you can. I went back the following morning for an early lunch before driving out of St. Louis and had the pulled pork sandwich this time, which was simpler and still really good. There's something about the consistency here that you notice across visits, nothing feels like an off day or a rushed plate. The whole operation runs like they take it seriously but nobody in there looks like they're stressed about it, which is a hard combination to pull off.”

“In town from Ohio for the UD-SLU game and arrived at Blue Jay Brewing 45 minutes before scheduled opening (unknowingly). Our first time there based on a recommendation down near Pappy’s. Jay saw us outside, pulling on a locked door, and invited us in. The beer was very good - I had the Monarch, a Munich style Dunkel. Jay and his wife are doing it right. Recommend you make this one of your stops while in town. GO FLYERS!”

“Fleur de Thé is tucked along Juanita Street in Tower Grove Park. We were cared for by Tatiana, the daughter of the founder, and every recipe comes straight from her mother — and you can taste that lineage in every bite. The cucumber sandwiches were the quiet surprise: impossibly light bread and what was clearly a homemade butter that set the tone immediately. The scones with clotted cream? Honestly some of the best I’ve ever had — tender, rich, and exactly what a scone should be. Then came the sweets, and it was impossible to choose a favorite: A rose-flavored cookie that was delicate and fragrant without tipping into “perfume”. A spice cake made from their own traditional Indian chai (not an Americanized version), which I loved despite usually skipping spice cake. And a chocolate mousse so light and airy it felt like it might float right out of the cup. As if the tea itself wasn’t enough, the cherry blossom wall behind us felt like the perfect backdrop. Even the tiny gnome on the table added a bit of unexpected charm. If you’re looking for an afternoon that feels thoughtful, beautiful, and genuinely special, Fleur de Thé is something rare. See you next year!”

“They care about the community just as much as they do about coming up with new creative and tasty food. An all around good place. Unless you don't like scary movies and gothic decor then get your order to go and you'll still love them.”

“Our wedding in February 2024 was a dream come true! Grbic helped make our day absolutely perfect. Leija was incredibly knowledgeable, easy to work with and quick to respond to all of our needs. The ceremony was held on the covered patio space and the reception in the Luxe Room which is gorgeous! The homemade food was delicious and the staff were all so friendly and fun. We were able to borrow almost all of our decor from their closet which was an added bonus. We are so happy we chose Grbic!”

“While I can say that it's vastly superior to the other truck stops that I have encountered in Missouri and offers far more services amenities and hospitality to professional drivers and regular automobile driver's alike, it is still a truck stop with inflated prices and all of the strange brands the normal motorists do not encounter in day-to-day life. The showers here were clean serviceable and enjoyable. There is a television room and a small area for people to eat. There is also a small casino area. There is a small criminal element at this particular establishment. But that is to be expected and compared to some of the other elements I've encountered while in Missouri it is welcome in it's sparity. All together I can say that this truck stop is where you would want to go were you transiting from Missouri to Illinois on a normal commute. An excellent establishment.”
