Solera is a great start to your evening in downtown Alton. It's a simple and intimate wine bar with good offerings and knowledgable service. It has become my place to go for a glass of wine before enjoying dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. Solera is strictly a wine bar, but they do offer various cheeses and meats to nosh on while you enjoy your wine. First time every being in this bar and I absolutely love it. My next trip to Alton this bar will definitely be on my list to return too .Steve is an awesome bartender and so knowledgeable.

A lovely little spot to stop into, might be greeted by a doggo, find amazing conversation, make friends, play with chalk art, and be scolded by a teacher (playfully... I think...)Wine list is by the glass, can also purchase the bottle and enjoy it at a hightop table or one of the amazing lower conversational chairs.Mr. Bunbury would be most pleased with the location and fare.
