“Don’t feel like cooking tonight? I know just the place for you, The Old Fill Inn. They have amazing pizza, ice cream, and a bunch of other homestyle food plus takeout and gift certificates. The Fill Inn is a family owned restaurant, in Batchtown, IL. Their employees are always fun, friendly and quick.I tried The Fill Inn in the first place because my friends and family recommended it, it was also local. This business has also been there for many nights after basketball and football games. I am qualified to write this review because I have been to many homestyle restaurants. I have been going to The Old Fill Inn for 10+ years. I go here at least 4-5 times a month. I also know many workers there. My family and I have had many family gatherings and just dinners with friends here.I recommend this product for many reasons. First because the staff is amazing. Every time I go in there they remember my whole family's names. They are always so kind, caring, and friendly. They will always stay and have a good conversation with you. They also check up on you to make sure everything is good. They are also very quick, never an empty drink at your table.Reason two why I recommend The Old Fill Inn is because they have many options. From chicken strips to cheesecake they have so much variety. In the summer my dad loves to get catfish fritters and the rest of the family enjoys other types of fish. On nights with my great grandma when she didn’t want to cook we would enjoy the fried chicken dinner with our family. They also have homemade desserts like cheesecake in various flavors, ice cream, ice cream cakes, and pies. Which you can place orders and have written on if you would like. If you have an event you would like to have their food at, they cater as well. Finally I would like to recommend The Fill In for any ones who needs a quick dinner. You can call ahead and get to-go orders. There have been many nights after long days of work and sports where we have picked up pizza for quick dinners or got to-go.I would recommend this restaurant to crowds after church, sports families, and really anyone who would like a good homestyle meal. Whether you're busy, don't want to cook, want catering, need a place for a family dinner, or just want to go out to eat. The Fill Inn is just the place. Before going to The Old Fill Inn, know on Thursdays the special is chicken so note it might be a little more busy, they are also not open on mondays. Now knowing this, stop reading and go try it out.Kid-friendliness: There are always kids here and they supply high chairs and books if needed.”

“The burgers were great, big smashed burgers. The little waitress was obviously new, but tried to charge me $2.69 for water. She never really understood that there's a difference between a soft drink and water, but I did get a refund. Definitely go, but check your check.”

“Alexis was great, kept our drinks filled, and keno checked. We only had fries, a little snack, but they were great. They have lotto in here, so we wasted some money but had a good time. Very chill spot mostly locals but good crowd.”

“Great view of the Illinois River. Service was good. Hoping they eventually open for breakfast.Kid-friendliness: It is a family restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: It is elevated due to proximity of the river but the ramps appear easy to navigate and plenty of room to get around in the restaurant and to the bathrooms. Nice deck that is,accessible and will provide great views of the river too.”

“Get the Fat Texan sandwich: It is grilled cheese and brisket heaven! The fries are also really good! The owner cooked the food himself, probably why it's so amazing! We will be back!”
“Great bar. Large array of beer and liquor available. Several large TV's to watch your favorite sports on. Recently added an outdoor patio that is half covered. Bar host's many events. Owner is active in the community. Friendly bartenders. Clean bathrooms. Great atmosphere.”
“I've been going here for many years. The value of the food and friendly staff make it a hometown favorite. The huge breakfast burrito and lil' feller are just a couple of my family's favorites. ***** Thanks Beck, you're the best!!!”
“We've been calling the place "Ripoffs" for years. Generally I only stop here when I have really bad gas, or I need to leave a pile of yesterday's dinner. Looks like a areal view of a train wreck.”

“Shooter's Saloon, a hidden gem on Elsberry's historic Broadway Street, Missouri, defies typical bar expectations with its exceptional cuisine. Nestled in a town celebrated for its rich history and welcoming charm, Shooter's enriches Elsberry's social tapestry with engaging activities like poker on Wednesday nights and league pool games, promising fun and camaraderie.A standout feature is Steak Night, which transforms during Lent to include seafood options on Fridays, catering to all palates while maintaining the communal and joyous atmosphere. Though I have yet to experience Steak Night firsthand, its reputation for quality and warmth mirrors the essence of Shooter's Saloon. This is your invitation to explore the heart of Elsberry, one memorable visit at a time.Kid-friendliness: Shooters is kid-friendly till 9:00 p.m.”

“Beer could have been a little bit colder but I wouldn't not hold them at fault they may have just done a restock. Everybody was friendly this is a great stop for a planned road trip down the river if you ever get the chance and you are local Google all of the small towns some of these have amazing sights and cool little places for a bite and a cold beer along the trip”

“This was another great place we stopped by for dinner during our AirBnB at the Big Red Barn. The staff and everyone were so nice. Once we were done our meals which were great, we played some slots and won $75 bucks after playing for 30 minutes. You also cannot beat the prices. We will be back again.”

“It had been over 10 years since I ate at Dos Primos. I had stopped eating there for many reasons..poor customer service..cold and disgusting food....the atmosphere was not people friendly. However, 10 years later, we decided to try the mexican restaurant again. My oh my, I am glad we have. Their food there is phenomenal. So much so, my husband has had their fajita nachos 3 nights in a row, (he likes them that much). I have had not only their fajita nachos, but I have had their soft tacos, burritos and also their quesadillas. I have no complaints about their food now days. If you like Mexican and you like eating it on a small town...go get you some Dos Primos.”

“Natalie is the first subway person to get the “wel-done” bacon request. Thank you for taking the time to make our sandwiches awesome! Very clean restraunt and personable employee. Highly recommend.”
“Kids had fun. The place is awesome. That being said, a few updates and this place would be perfect. The food is good but could be great. The room was nice but needs some work. The bathrooms are dated. The beds are not the best. Hot tub lining is separated from the concrete. Exterior suffered serious damage in a recent storm that still needs attending to. Great time overall though.Food & drinks: Having coffee available in the lobby would be a great addition as would being able to purchase an adult drink on property after 8pm.”

“Great small town bar. No complaints, good bar food, great lady's working the bar. I've been in there countless times since the mid/late 70's, and it looks the same as it did back then.”
