“Stopped in briefly for a cold drink from a motorcycle ride with friends. Place is Nice. The barmaid busted her backside to accommodate us. Overall decent bar. I would stop back by again if I'm in the area.”

“Our Illinois reception was held at this location and we were extremely happy with the venue, food and staff. After having been hit by a surprise large group during the day, I was concerned that the staff wouldn't be able to recover in time for our evening event, but it was amazing how they handled the transition! They managed all of our requests, and we got so many compliments on the food and service. Thank you for making it a special event for us!”

Hoping they eventually open for breakfast.Kid-friendliness: It is a family restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: It is elevated due to proximity of the river but the ramps appear easy to navigate and plenty of room to get around in the restaurant and to the bathrooms. Nice deck that is,accessible and will provide great views of the river too.”

“I gave the atmosphere a 4 only because it is a rather small place, but other than that, I really enjoyed myself there. The ice house was nice but there wasn't any music available out there. This may be typical of ice houses, so my expectations may have been off. The bar and the staff were great. We will be back.”

“Great overall experience. We went on a Monday for lunch. The catfish, burger, pickle chips, and pretzel bites were hot, nicely seasoned, and came out quickly. Our server was pleasant and accommodating. If you're in the area, give them a try!”

“The Baalman family are very friendly and this is a friendly little place to go. There is a banquet room in the back which we used both after my grandmothers and grandfathers funeral. They were very accommodating and friendly to my family and I on our visits there.”

We also had he fried alligator appetizer and it was very good.My wife had the voodoo shrimp tacos and she love them.Very cool place that get insanely busy during the season, but it was very nice today. “The day we ate there it was a cool autumn day. We ate outside. Service was great, staff friendly. Mix of bikers and cars. The pulled chicken sandwich I ate was so tender and good. The BBQ sauce was good. I absolutely loved their potato salad as my side dish. I've eaten there before, and they are consistently good. Casual atmosphere, great place to eat.”

“I guess we must have hit a crazy rush or they were understaffed. The restaurant still had some tables with chairs up on them but the staff were working crazy hard! They did do the best they could despite it taking over an hour to get our lunch. We used the time to stand out on their balcony & watch eagles out on the river.Vegetarian options: Very little for vegetarians. I'm a pescatarian so I had a catfish wrap but my dad had to order a grilled cheese of the kids menu. A vegan would have absolutely no choices.”

“My favorite place to eat in the Grafton/Pere Marquette area. Probably a weird thing to hoot and holler about but the enormous soft pretzel with cheese is probably the best pretzel I've ever eaten in my life. I always try to order something I haven't had there before and they haven't let me down yet!”

“Stopped in for breakfast as it's one of the only places serving breakfast in town. They were short staffed, however the staff was able to provide a fast breakfast that was tasty and hit the spot.”

“My wife and I did a hike in the morning and swung by the lodge for lunch. My wife got the pulled pork with fries and a side of fresh fruit. I got a half fried chicken mashed potatoes green beans and coleslaw. My wife said that her pork sandwich was excellent and the fresh fruit was fairly good being that it is not the right season for melons. My chicken was OK didn't have a lot of spice to it the mashed potatoes green beans and coleslaw were excellent as were the homemade rolls. Our waitress Erica was really hustling and took very good care of us. The lodge is very rustic and the ambience was great overall was a very good meal.”

“Food is good. Just be prepared to wait an hour + for your main course. We sat down at 4 and just now got our meal at 5:15. Good food but staff seem overwhelmed. Great views!”
