“Hubby & I live 5 mins. From this bakery...always said I wanted to check it out, but waited almost a year to go in; I am kicking myself now! This place is AMAZING!! Even my hubby (who doesn't care for sweets) loves it! In fact, we've gone 3 times this week! The baked goods are phenomenal & staff is super nice! Also, prices are very reasonable. “Wow! This was our first time at Popeyes and there were 8 of us celebrating my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary! Chuck was our server and everything was absolutely incredible. The service, atmosphere & food far exceeded my expectations. We had onion rings and crab cakes as an appetizer. Both were some of the best we've ever had. The bread and salads were fantastic as well. Steaks, pork chops and fried chicken were all to die for. Because we were celebrating an anniversary, two slices of cheesecake were brought out & were SO good! I can't wait to go back!!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu was extensive- both kiddos (ages 11 & 9) loved the appetizers & their meals!”

Best onion rings - I usually stay away from rings as I find them too greasy and tasteless. These were the opposite. Homemade, crispy, sweet onions balanced with lightly salted crust - Perfect!”

“The BEST pizza i’ve ever had. This place beats pizza hut, mario’s, dominos, mazios, joes, and any other pizza place i’ve had. I really enjoyed the garlic cheese bread and the pizza was nothing short of delicious and magnificent! might be a bit pricey, but you get large portions and it’s homemade. Let me tell you that crust…. The best texture i’ve ever had. The pizza isn’t too greasy. Normally i’m no fan of sauce it hurts my tummy and it’s usually too much, but this sauce has a sweetness and it’s very light. If you can go here for a family dinner night, service is only a little slow due to one person serving everyone, but she’s as quick as one person can be. These people are very kind and the ambience in the building makes me feel so welcome. Five out of five stars for everything i had!!! try the house salad with ranch !!! try the bacon pizza!! and do be sure to get some garlic cheese bread !!!Kid-friendliness: they are super sweet to all people they handled toddlers well and kept a friendly conversation with someone who is disabled.”

“I have been at well over a thousand weddings in my life as a DJ and I've never seen anything like the display that covered in chocolate had last night! I wish I could have tried everything! The cake pops were delicious and moist, the chocolate covered strawberries were perfect! The chocolate didn't crumble off and make a huge mess when you bit into them, and the strawberry cookies were so amazing with fresh cut strawberries on top! Everything was set up so beautifully 10/10 will recommend and use them at my wedding!”

“Very spacious for events, friendly staff. Both upstairs and downstairs. Tuesday's they serve delicious tacos and Sundays are Queen of Hearts Drawings not as big as the half a million jackpot at Aviston Legion. But growing. The first game it went out the first night. So that was a 1000. Now on second game as of Nov 25, 2017. Lounge is nice and the downstairs dining hall is lovely.”

“As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a cucumber, avocado sandwich with goat cheese plus a side pasta salad! It was so refreshing and delicious! I’ve also had their vegetarian pizza with pineapple it was just as yummy!Unfortunately, I heard recently the kitchen closed. “Stopped in to watch the Packers. Nice place with several TVs to accommodate everyone's games. Bartenders were great, especially since they were so busy. Bonus: the Jack Daniel's girl stopped in to pass out samples and swag. Glad we visited here.”

“Just had lunch here for the first time and everything was excellent! The cheeseburger and fries were really good and the service was also excellent. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. If you're on the Southern Illinois Coffee Trail, this restaurant is just down the street from the Oh So Sweet Bakery & Cafe in Carlyle. It seems to be a cash/check only restaurant which didn't bother us as we know credit card fees for small businesses are going up.”

“This place was packed and I understand why... The food was great! It's way better than anything you get at other "fast food" restaurants. I bought lunch for 2 and it was only $20. I mean you go anywhere else and you pay close to that just for yourself. The girl working the register was nice and got the order right. Food came out somewhat quickly. I think we waited like 15 mins which wasn't a big deal. Like I said... The food was awesome! My burger was damn near perfect and the fries were great. Of course I got a large Ski. Their large drinks could be a little bit bigger though. It was a great lunch. Great food!! I will definitely be back!”

“We always love taking the trip to El Arado and grabbing a bite if we are in the mood for Mexican Cuisine. Food is always good and people are always in and out. Favorite things are the white sweet sauce they bring out with chips and I always enjoy a good Cherry Ski. For food we are pretty simple with chicken and rice or shrimp and rice.”

“It's a small town corner bar. The food we had was great. Greasy cheeseburger as it should be. Philly steak same and good flavor. Daughter loved her quesadilla. Oh ya the bottles of beer where just below freezing. It's a bar. If your the hoity toity type stat away if your normal I can recomend this place. “The service is always top notch, we come to the area to snow goose hunt with a group of 10. Three years in a row we've had an awesome waitress that is on it!!! The food is good, and we always enjoy our visit. The restaurant is clean, the decor is like a lodge with animal mounts on the wall, large bar, nice wine area. Overall nice little spot for 10 hunters to eat, drink and be a little loud.”

“Food was very tasty. I got the hay stack and a side order of corned beef hash that I mixed in with it. It was delicious. The price for my order was a bit higher than I expected. I ordered 10 chocolate chip pancakes, an Old 50 omelet, an Old 50 hay stack and a side order of corned beef hash. My bill was right at $99 for everything. All together the food was good and I'm sure I'll be back.”
