“This hidden gem serves the Campus of the University of Chicago and those of us who come in off the street! My parents (both 81) and I came in for lunch. We couldn’t find it at first, but a nice young man happily told us where it was. Inside one of the campus buildings.

We had croissant sandwiches, with side salads and Topo Chico. There was beautiful outdoor seat - most of which was all ready bustling with interesting people (great people watching) enjoying the beautiful weather, wine and fellowship with a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright house (I believe) right next to them.“

I wish it was all year round but aside from that the taste is excellent. not to mention it’s run by the sweetest old couple ever honestly wouldn’t be mad if they got my order wrong lol?. “Stopped in for a tasting. Yummy meads and a few wines too. Plenty of room to sit. Nice outdoor area. Meads are more fruit forward flavor. We enjoyed ourselves. Edna was very helpful, friendly, and had some great recommendations. Also found out they hold wine making events from a kit. Can’t wait to do that.“

“We ❤️ Thornton Distilling!! We come here regularly and I just realized I've never left a review encouraging others to check it out. The food and drinks are great (obsessed with the lavender lemonade they make in the summer), the bar itself is very cool and historic and their outdoor patio is dog friendly. My husband has done the distillery tour for his bachelor party and thought it was really fun. Highly recommend!“

“Delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. They have traditional paletas in the restaurant too which is such a good idea of theirs!! And our favorite part of going. Highly recommend trying their food then treating yourself to a paleta afterwards.“

$4 regular onion rings came with literally only 4 onion rings. $1/ring is crazy so that’s the only feedback. Will say they were nice and crispy tho but still either overpriced, but more likely the gentleman serving out too few on accident.“

“Huge pizza lovers at our house and this place did not disappoint! The birria pizza is amazing! My husband and I would go back a million times for that alone. Who thought birria, like, and consommé would be so amazing on a pizza?! Also had the st paddy’s day fatty and it was also delicious! The double decker pizza with cheese in the middle was also a nice touch! We will be back again!“

“I only swing by like a bi-annual comet, glad to see new people but still the same crowd sorta. U-C tech providing to go drinks in sort of container that looks remarkably like a Saleen drip bag. Also like the mural of #44, he's Sept and I'm Jan. Oh well I'm still the eldest geez in the joint.“

“Visiting from Ohio. We have great coffee shops in our home town so we are rather picky. Upon entry I got a cinnamon smell, not of coffee. My husband ordered ‘la toxica’ and he said it was made with authentic horchata. I had the mazapan latte and it was so good.l was pleasantly impressed that it was not overly sweet but had the rich peanut flavor. Glad to have found this place close to our lodging!“

“I don’t even know how it’s not 5 stars!!! Absolutely amazing food! Wow! Never have tasted something so amazing & so cheap!!!!!! I think this is one of my favorite places now. Can’t wait to try their other items!!!!!! Oh and also…. The service was also so amazing!!! They were so busy but it only took them 8 minutes for our order!!!! Even though they were also working on catering orders. I drove 45 minutes to get there after work, after seeing a fb video… so worth it!!!!! Please come try this place out!!! “I gave 3 stars on the Service and Atmosphere because when the girl dark skin girl with the braces is there she loud, rude, and ghetto. The light skinned young lady and the regular lady are very nice.

I eat here once a week faithfully and since the regular lady has been out I’ve not gotten my food how I ask for it ( lite mild on my 4 wings). She old me she would make sure b it was correct but she walked away and my food had way to much mild sauce on it. She took my food tossed it in the trash and called for it to be remade.“

“kams is really a small place with a big reputation. i drive 50 mins every few days to get their combination lo mein noodles. panda express or other chinese restaurants cannot compare to them. It is always busy and the kitchen is clean. The food is great. I love the variety. The egg rolls are delicious and everything is fresh. I have never had a problem with the food or the staff. Their parking lot is not big but now they have their own reserved parking . It is in the heart of beautiful Chatham You will not be disappointed. Also they have the best chicken wings.“
