“I ordered the avocado chicken curry with rice! It was absolutely delicious. Very flavourful. Just perfect. My friend got the avocado mac and cheese. I tasted it and loved that too. The portions are large and we brought some home. We got the avocado cheesecake cup for desert and wow! Yummy yummy yummy. They have a kids menu too! I will be a regular customer in the future. You have to try this place!“

“We visited and tried the Vegan Gyro and the Vegan BBQ Tips, with sides of regular fries and garlic fries. The Gyro was very filling, so I saved the fries for later. The Gyro did have a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste personally, but it was good overall. The star of the show, however, was the BBQ Tips. They were very good flavor wise, and I liked the texture, but my best friend felt that the texture was not agreeable; they were very chewy, so it's mostly just a personal preference. The fries were good; we enjoyed that they had a sort of sweet aftertaste!“

All three times I was either on crutches or knee brace. They were so sweet they helped me with my food to car an even told me to pull up to place and they’ll have my order ready for me! “We had Cafe 53 cater our entire wedding and the food was phenomenal! Our guests can’t stop talking about the smoked brisket to this day. Jess and her team are amazing to work with and their communication through out the entire process was great. While they have a standard catering menu, they are willing to make whatever you want and cater to your dietary needs. We had a bbq/comfort food style menu and it was a hit. The staff was on time with their services and were on top of it the entire time. The cost was a great price as well which is always a bonus. So thankful that we went with Jess and Cafe 53 for our big day!“

“My sisters and Aunt took me here to celebrate my 60th Birthday and we had an amazing time. Food was hot and delicious. Our server, Que, who was actually one of the managers, took care of us personally and he made my birthday dinner absolutely amazing. “I am recommending the restaurant based on past experiences at previous location. Even though the service was slow, the food was delicious and the man who served us had a great attitude. However, this new location is closer to my house and I would be a frequent customer if they would ever answer the phone. I called both numbers on this page. One is out of service the other never gets answered. I want to see this restaurant succeed. It is Black owned and I want to support it. Please update your number on Facebook to the correct number that will get answered. Until I am able to call to place an order, I will place my order at Daisy's Cafe 2 in Hazel Crest. It's a longer drive, but They always answer their phone.“

“This hidden gem serves the Campus of the University of Chicago and those of us who come in off the street! My parents (both 81) and I came in for lunch. We couldn’t find it at first, but a nice young man happily told us where it was. Inside one of the campus buildings.

We had croissant sandwiches, with side salads and Topo Chico. There was beautiful outdoor seat - most of which was all ready bustling with interesting people (great people watching) enjoying the beautiful weather, wine and fellowship with a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright house (I believe) right next to them.“
