“Popped in here for my first lunch of Route 66 and it was a great decision. The atmosphere is fun and kitschy with statues outside, a 50s feel inside, and even bathrooms with fun theming. The food is reasonably priced and cooked to order. I thought the burger was decent, but the chili cheese fries were the highlight. Those are a must order. I also thought the shake was above average. If you start 66 in the morning, the Polk A Dot is perfectly placed to be your first lunch and I can't think of a better way to start your trip.”

“I have been coming here my whole life and the food is always good, HOWEVER, today i came in and ordered soup before my meal. This soup was so hot it left actual burns with blisters on the roof of my mouth and it is incredibly painful 😅 so just be warned, maybe add an ice cube to your soup before you eat it.”

“First time ordering. Pizza was perfect and exactly how we ordered it. Picked it up to take home and eat. It wasn’t quite ready when I got there so I walked around a little. Place needs a good, deep cleaning. Would most likely order again just hope they do some housekeeping.”

“I had training at the Constellation Gerneration Services and Training Center in Wilmington recently. While I was there, I opted to get lunch one of the days at this McDonald's. I went through the drive thru.

The exterior of the building is mostly a gray colored stucco material. It looks nice, but I worry a bit for it's general long-term efficacy and endurance (the Midwest is moist).

The drive thru speakers and screens worked as expected, nothing was broken or malfunctioning. The payment window was much sooner than I expected it to be. It's as though whoever designed this McDonald's cut a corner off the building and put the window on this new, awkward 45 degree wall.

The drive thru attendant was used to people missing it frequently. We joked a bit about this fact. It was some nice levity in the middle of my day.

My burgers and fries were of the expected quality McDonald's supplies. I was pleased.

Would eat here again. Thank you, McDonald's.”

“For anyone who may have been misinformed. Whistle Stop Cafe in DIAMOND, IL is not closed. It is still thriving and still has great food at even better prices. Yes, there is another restaurant in Canada that closed. Same name, different owners (different family entirely).”

“Babes is a great bar and reataraunt in Coal City. I stopped in on a Monday night after work to celebrate a friend's birthday and was not disappointed. Walking in the front door, the bar is open and inviting. There are gambling machines and a shuffle board table there to pass the time. I sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by Bri. I ordered a beer and a couple appetizers to start. The kitchen is in the front of the house so you can see your food prepared. The jalapeño poppers were a standard deep fried jalapeño with cream cheese, fried to a perfect brown crust on the outside and a creamy spicy inside. The cheese curds are an above average variety. The batter is salty and crunchy which pairs perfectly with the melted gooey cheese on the inside. Next up was the burger. I ordered a hamburger and fries which was recommended by everyone in the place. It did not disappoint. Grilled to order and seasoned with the confidence of an experienced cook. If you are in the area and want a great meal at a great place, stop in and check them out. I know I will be back when I'm in town.”

“The food is a well made tasty mean. The staff is friendly and likely to chat with you if you stir up a conversation. The corn chowder soup is one of my favorites and worth trying. Just don’t judge the food by the look of the entrances and the worn look. It is a favorite of the locals.”

“Visited the Clubhouse Coal City with former classmates tonight & had an absolutely awesome dinner. Bloody Mary was top notch & one of our friends ordered a caramel Apple Martini that looked scrumptious 🥰 I ordered the much talked about ribs & was not disappointed ❣️❣️❣️They were fall off the bone tender; dripping with deliciousness ❤️❤️The sauce was a fabulous complex of flavors that satisfies every point on your palate - a 10 star delight on a plate🤩🤩 Salad was super fresh with just the right amount of added extras 😉I ordered the mashed potatoes & again the seasoning was right on point. Service was excellent 😍 I guarantee you I will be back, with more people, as this restaurant does not disappoint!!!”
