“When heading towards Beverly for a property management home inspection, I wanted to find a local coffee joint that I could get a coffee and a snack of some sort. Afro Joe's was calling to me. Walking in, greeted warmly, the adventure began. If you haven't been, check the menu before you go because you will want to order one of each item! Since it was my first time, most certainly NOT the last, I needed a lifeline. Charmaine to the rescue. I don't know if I manifested or she read my mind , but when I asked which sandwich I should order instantly , she said the short rib! Boom! Done. Next up, a drink choice. Again I was not led astray. The option was a blueberry lavender cold brew topped with rose cold foam. As she was suggesting the option, Charmaine lifted the one she was drinking and again instantly sold. No chocolate croissant available since it was later in the morning but the chocolate morning roll was there and three for three, the order was placed. I already know that I have to come back, time and time again.Just walking in such a chill vibe , perfect music, everyone tables either working or chatting with a friend. The open kitchen invites you to see the hustle and bustle. The garage doors roll up onto the patio for warmer days and what appears to be local art work adorns the walls. When I tell you, this is absolutely no exaggeration, every item was on point! The short rib was so flavor forward eith the bite of picked onions, there was a side of diced pickles and onions too. Also a hit. The warm bun had some fruit nestled in its chocolatey tummy, flakes and moist with the richness of cocoa. And for the latte, cold, sweet and the flavors all complimented each other so well. I did opt for whole milk because, why not?!? I had one too many client emails and texts to be able to enjoy grabbing a book from the shelf but note, they even had the sharpest of colored pencils to doodle or write a note with. I have not one complaint, well, maybe one, I wish they were in my neighborhood because this would be a staple place to visit regularly! Until we meet again and I can get my hands on a chocolate croissant next...or any one of the other of their baked goods. Support your Local Black Owned Businesses!“

“I’ve had great experiences here on multiple occasions. It’s a cool vibe overall and baseline worth a visit given the fact that it’s one of three Guinness open gate breweries in the world. “Self pour, pay per oz. tap room with 4-5 different brewery's beers on tap. They also have wine and mixed drinks on tap as well. There is also food options but we did not eat. Overall it was a good visit but we probably won't make a return trip. Beverages start at around $.70 an ounce and it goes up from there. That adds up real quick and the price paid for the experience just didn't seem worth it.“

“I have been purchasing the Hard Scrabble espresso coffee beans from Whole Foods for several years and it is my favorite bean locally roasted. Visiting the shop was a great experience, having them make the same espresso shot that I make at home and it did not disappoint. We love the extra space for hanging out in the back too. Lastly, these prices appear to be from when they opened many years ago! Thank you for your efforts to keep coffee affordable!!“

“Truly lives up to the hype. I've been wanting to try this bakery for a long time since everyone says it has the best tres leches and I've had tres leches from many bakeries but this truly is the best tres leches in Chicago and probably the best I've had. We tried the mango and Oreo ones and the Oreo one was truly delicious! The mango one tasted a little too sweet for me and I wish it had a stronger mango flavor but still really but the Oreo one was incredible! I highly recommend trying that one. The owner was also there and chatted with us and talked about the other flavors as well. Will try those next time we visit!“

“We visited Chinatown to explore with our kids and stopped here for a meal and we’re so glad we did! The restaurant was clean and inviting, and the service was great.

They have an extensive menu, and we tried several dishes, including broccoli beef, orange chicken, cucumber salad, crab Rangoon, and beef soup. Everything was fresh and delicious! Our family has been talking about the food since we left.

We live about 45 minutes away, but we’ll definitely be making the trip back. We’re already looking forward to trying the Dongpo tilapia and more of the menu. Highly recommend! Posting a photo but half the food is missing because we ate it so quick!! It was soo yummy!“

We don't wait long in line and got to take in the interior designs ( which are just *chefs kiss*). “We found Kasey's Tavern while visiting the Literary Fair on Dearborn St. While in Chicago. We sat outside along the sidewalk. It was a beautiful day, flowers were blooming, the wait staff was awesome, the beers were delicious, and their pizza was perfect. Kasey's only serves pizza. They serve thin crust cheese, sausage, meatlovers, and vegetable pizza. We loved our visit to Kasey's Tavern! Cheers 🍻“

The food was just okay for the price. My fries were cold and underseasoned, my friend's pasta was a little bland and underwhelming, and my chicken sandwich was good, but not great (though I did make a modification, so take that with a grain of salt). The mac and cheese was absolutely stellar, however! Some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had, actually. Service was a bit slow, and our server was very kind, but she seemed overwhelmed with tables. I would give this place a shot again! I want more of the mac and cheese and I'd like to try their soft serve.“

Everything is fresh, flavorful & delicious. I'm no foodie, but I know these guys keep me coming back. AND their delivery packing is so freaking adorable!! “Fun pre dinner drink spot in the heart of Fulton market. A little tricky to find so make sure you enter SoHo house from the far right entrance and make your way up the staircase to your right. Then left through the saloon style doors into this tiny bar. Fun atmosphere with a ton of photos and memorabilia on the walls. Be warned there is only seating for about 40 people and it starts to fill up around 6:30. Odd selection of drinks on draft (twisted tea??) and Guinness not served in a Guinness glass but the apricot cocktail was awesome. A little pricey but so is everything in Fulton. Good stop for a date night.“

“Rejoice! The place for some great Chinese teas had arrived near you! Yes, it does share the fad with the Taiwan born boba drinks. But our eye was caught by the nice website with images of nice teacups and ambiance. Only 23 miles away from home we discovered that the trip in a hot and still pandemic day was totally worth it. In few words owner, Shaolong picked the teaist vibes in us and offered us a great real experience of sharing a favorite tea - he introduced us to the wonders of Zhang Ping Shui Xian (漳平水仙). Unlike the real "black tea", the Pu-erh, this one also comes in bricks, yet is a type of oolong with an amazing floral scent. We were honored with 4 different samples which we are currently slowly and thoroughly testing (3 pics). And yes, the fermentation levels are different - some definitely will give you a great oolong taste, but others are just a unique elixir on its own. But back to the house itself. I see and hope for great unrolling potential. This could become a place for tea lovers and teaists in training. Why not theme days, classes, shared experiences, a club? We would join. The 23 miles are a drive, but there isn't much of a real tea-drinking place in our Chicagoland (unlike smaller cities in North America like Portland and Montreal). However, Living Water Tea House is a great promise and it totally won our full support! Keep the cups warm!“

“Hi! So my take on Ume Tea. Out of all restaurants/tea shops I've went here in Chinatown this is my favorite place to go and relax. Pink is my favorite color and it's makes me feel at ease that this tea shop is colored all pink! They always play popular, good music here to listen. Aside the pink, cute aesthetic here, I can confidently say the food here is tasty with delious tea drinks to pick! Employees here are also friendly, always attends customers here! Definitely recommend this place!“
