“I’ve been to plenty of local coffee shops around Chicago and Sputnik is the absolute best. I stumbled upon this hidden gem a few years ago on my commute to work when they were on 51st. It’s been my almost daily stop since then. I’ve switched jobs a few months ago and a Sputnik pit stop adds an extra 20 min to my commute but it’s absolutely worth it.
I highly recommend a hot oat milk vanilla latte but anything you order will be amazing. They roast their own coffee, make their own flavored syrups, and they’ve done both right. The fresh pastries and growing food options have made Sputnik the best all around coffee shop. If you’re a coffee lover, DO NOT sleep on Sputnik.“

“We had Cafe 53 cater our entire wedding and the food was phenomenal! Our guests can’t stop talking about the smoked brisket to this day. Jess and her team are amazing to work with and their communication through out the entire process was great. While they have a standard catering menu, they are willing to make whatever you want and cater to your dietary needs. We had a bbq/comfort food style menu and it was a hit. The staff was on time with their services and were on top of it the entire time. The cost was a great price as well which is always a bonus. So thankful that we went with Jess and Cafe 53 for our big day!“

“This hidden gem serves the Campus of the University of Chicago and those of us who come in off the street! My parents (both 81) and I came in for lunch. We couldn’t find it at first, but a nice young man happily told us where it was. Inside one of the campus buildings.
We had croissant sandwiches, with side salads and Topo Chico. There was beautiful outdoor seat - most of which was all ready bustling with interesting people (great people watching) enjoying the beautiful weather, wine and fellowship with a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright house (I believe) right next to them.“

“Nice spot! We got iced coffees and they were great. The service was friendly and the drinks were made with care. The establishment was clean and welcoming with many places to sit. Some tables have small games on them to play while you socialize. I look forward to returning for a milk tea and other treats.“

“A safe environment that makes my soul smile! The staff is kind and breeds a supportive environment with lots of events available for artists of all art forms to take part in. The atmosphere is lovely and it's definitely a place to go for all who love art and live music. In general it's a place definitely worth checking out!“

“just found the place last week. The nicest dang people work there. young lady made me that pistachio and Chai latte to perfection. the slider and burrito were excellent. Positive vibe and energy as soon as you hit the door. nice set up and the upstairs is really inviting. Very happy to had the privilege of finding a great place like this. I live an hour away but stop when I'm in the area“

“I absolutely love this place. I get the steak sandwich with tomato onions cheese pickles and mayo. I also add lettuce. The orange sauce is so good with it as well. The bread is that perfect texture that is soft inside and kinda crispy on the outside, they toast it a little. All there food is good, I'm just obsessed with the steak sandwich. I order from Uber eats but in person they have more menu options.“

“I had brunch here today with a friend, first time here. I had the corned beef benedict and not only was it the best corned beef I've ever had in my life, but the orange juice was amazing, the service was great, and the value was fabulous also! Will definitely be back and plan to possibly go once a week with friends! 10 out of 10 recommend!“

“Absolutely the best food and customer service on the south suburbs. I had a party of 11. We sat down at a table immediately, the waitress took our drink order and then food order. Everything came out the kitchen fresh and hot. The food smelled delicious and looked delicious. me and my friends did the happy 😊 dance all afternoon. 5 out of 5 🌟“

“First time here and definitely worth trying. The chicken is soft and well seasoned with the jerk flavors. Mac and cheese is cheesy and good. Cabbage is good..now the red beans and rice tasted like rice a roni..it didn’t have that real flavor of red beans and rice plus I think all I got was like three beans. Then it came with some sauce that was sweet, rubbed me the wrong way. But overall I would recommend for anyone to try for themselves.“
“The Art Table worked on the mural around the corner. Our new favorite spot definitely saved us a couple of times. From wonderful staff to the to fabulous shakes! This place is fantastic. For all you fall lovers the pumpkin cheesecake with espresso is amazing! Thanks to everyone at Top Tier!“

“I thought this was a very unique and fun place where you can have a great time playing the Gambling Slots/games, and I really enjoyed the Bagel Dog I ate here too ? yummy! I am definitely going to give Gail ~Gale( I HOPE I GOT YOUR NAME SPELT RIGHT, THIS IS JOY I HOPE YOU REMEMBER ME NOW THAT I SAID MY NAME ♡!) she is the employee who was working on the night of my first time in this nice place. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU COME HERE AND CHECK IT OUT AND LET YOUR FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT IT AND YOUR FAMILY TO. “I honestly thought this place was a coffee shop....but I guess in a way it really is. But it's a cozy mini casino. The vibe is really comfortable....and it's unique. The have cheap drinks....and free coffee, tea, and snacks. It's a must go.“

“To be completely honest, I thought this was a little coffee shop based on how it looked. I was working in the area and stopped by since I normally avoid big chain coffee shops like Starbucks. Little did I know, it ended up being a little gaming place haha.Nevertheless, the employee was extremely accommodating and served me coffee on the house. I felt bad for not playing, so I insisted that I'd pay for a small pizza at least. I was the only one in the morning until 3 people came in to play around 9am. Thankfully none of the slots were loud enough to be distracting and the music/lounge area was more than sufficient to sit down and get some work done. Interesting concept but everything is pretty affordable including beer so I may come back again. Only downside was that a lot of the food menu items were not available.“

“I enjoy coming to Sandy’s to play the slots.karna is so friendly and polite. Karna is always asking customers if they would like something to drink, always wiping down machines once you leave one to move on to another . I give Sandy’s a 10 good job“

“First, I'd like to compliment the customer service. The staff there are helpful, patient, and considerate. Some of the best service I've seen in a long time. The place was packed. The food: Asian sesame chicken salad with a vinaigrette dressing. It comes with a choice of apple, chips, or baguette. Light, refreshing, and flavorful. The wontons added a great crunch and texture to the salad. 10's across the board for me.“

“I was staying in Hyde Park for a couple of weeks and chose this Capital One Café as my go-to remote workspace. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming—perfect for getting work done. Jawan kindly gave me a tour and explained all the great perks available at the café, and Mike made the best macchiatos. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxed, friendly place to work or hang out.“

“Maisha Oliver at Kabob-It station inside of the U of C Hutchinson Cafe has by far the best pineapple chicken kabob & salmon kabob ever. The meal was so flavorful and delicious. The mango habanero sauce was absolutely divine. You can tell the food is made with love. I also had some salad w/ lemon zest dressing that was pretty good as well. Try it for yourself you won’t be disappointed. My lunch was phenomenal today and I will be back.“

“The host name Tony is a very nice young Man. His Customer Service is Excellent. He always go above and beyond to help his customers. Tony is a people person,and he is funny,meaning he keep you laughing. Whatever you ask him to do or get something he don't mind helping or getting what you need. I enjoy going to Penny's when Tony is working because he gets the job done when it comes down to his Customers. When need more people like him. I feel he deserves a raise.“
