The portions are large and we brought some home. We got the avocado cheesecake cup for desert and wow! Yummy yummy yummy. They have a kids menu too! I will be a regular customer in the future. “Small place with only 4 small tables if you’re eating in and it takes a while to prepare the food but the place is very clean and food quality was extremely high and well worth the wait. The guy running the place was super friendly and helpful. He playfully challenged me to try the salmon burger vs the regular burger and it was a great call. He’s clearly making things from scratch with care and skill. I will definitely go back if I’m ever in the area.“

“We had Cafe 53 cater our entire wedding and the food was phenomenal! Our guests can’t stop talking about the smoked brisket to this day. Jess and her team are amazing to work with and their communication through out the entire process was great. While they have a standard catering menu, they are willing to make whatever you want and cater to your dietary needs. We had a bbq/comfort food style menu and it was a hit. The staff was on time with their services and were on top of it the entire time. The cost was a great price as well which is always a bonus. So thankful that we went with Jess and Cafe 53 for our big day!“

I’m not a beef eater so I wasn’t aware of the difference between a Philly steak and a sweet steak I had the Philly and loved it however when asking the difference the guy had no clue and read the menu as I did clearly the difference is bbq sauce is drenched on the sweet steak had he mentioned that I would’ve never ordered and wasted $25 being that I don’t like bbq sauce to that extent. The food is always on point but it seems like every time I order I have to double check because something is either missing or I get the wrong order but it’s always something otherwise I would’ve given 5 stars. This is my go to for comfort food the Burgers are my favorite and by far the best vegan food I’ve had in the City!“

Our server, Que, who was actually one of the managers, took care of us personally and he made my birthday dinner absolutely amazing. “I visited the establishment out of curiosity. The enticing aromas of freshly baked goods permeated the air. An assortment of doughnuts, scones, cookies, danishes, and loaves of bread were on display. I made a purchase of two tarts, namely the Twix and the Briscoff. The Twix tart bore a striking resemblance to the popular candy bar, yet it surpassed it in terms of taste and quality. It consisted of a shortbread crust filled with a delectable caramel custard, topped with chocolate and a piece of a Twix bar. The experience was truly divine. I have reserved the Briscoff tart for a later occasion. The establishment offers a diverse selection of other delectable items, including cakes. I intend to revisit the establishment in the future to indulge in a sweet treat.“

However, this new location is closer to my house and I would be a frequent customer if they would ever answer the phone. I called both numbers on this page. One is out of service the other never gets answered. I want to see this restaurant succeed. It is Black owned and I want to support it. Please update your number on Facebook to the correct number that will get answered. Until I am able to call to place an order, I will place my order at Daisy's Cafe 2 in Hazel Crest. “This hidden gem serves the Campus of the University of Chicago and those of us who come in off the street! My parents (both 81) and I came in for lunch. We couldn’t find it at first, but a nice young man happily told us where it was. Inside one of the campus buildings.

We had croissant sandwiches, with side salads and Topo Chico. There was beautiful outdoor seat - most of which was all ready bustling with interesting people (great people watching) enjoying the beautiful weather, wine and fellowship with a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright house (I believe) right next to them.“

“Beverly Bakery has become a MUST every time we are in the area! The food is incredible, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is so friendly. The crème brûlée French toast with strawberries is easily the BEST French toast I have everrrrrr had! I love the fresh brewed coffee and the wide selection of coffee beans to take home that they will even grind up for you. I would recommend giving Beverly bakery a try to anyone looking for a great breakfast in the area.“
