Some friends and I came to Basil Leaf Cafe after visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo. The inside of the restaurant is inviting and comfortable, and our waitress was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. As for the food, I ordered the Angel Hair Chicken. The dish was light and fresh, but lacking flavor. The portion was large so I was able to take half home. Always a great experience! No matter what we've ordered, the food is hot, perfectly cooked and delicious! Summertime is amazing because the windows are thrown open and there's also tables along the side (where they make sure your dog also has water!). But cold weather outside also brings a coziness inside, whether eating in the bar or in the restaurant area. So happy that this gem is in the neighborhood!

We have only gotten delivery and takeout from here but the inside looks really nice and peaceful. Their lunch sandwiches are delicious and on really good bread. We also love the bruschetta, tortellini prosciutto, and carbonara. Didn’t love the rigatoni with chicken and spinach.
